[AffirmationstoDe-Stress] the weight of prayer Posted: 28 Jun 2012 07:23 AM PDT The Weight of a PrayerLouise Redden, a poorly dressed lady with a look of defeat on her face, walked into a grocery store. She approached the owner of the store in a most humble manner and asked if he would let her charge a few groceries. She softly explained that her husband was very ill and unable to work. They had seven children and they needed food. John Longhouse, the grocer, scoffed at her and requested that she leave his store. Visualizing the family needs, she said: "Please, sir! I will bring you the money just as soon as I can." John told her he could not give her credit, as she did not have a charge account at his store. Standing beside the counter was a customer who overheard the conversation between the two. The customer walked forward and told the grocer that he would stand good for whatever she needed for her family. The grocer said in a very reluctant voice, "Do you have a grocery list?" Louise replied, "Yes sir." "Okay" he said, "put your grocery list on the scales and whatever your grocery list weighs, I will give you that amount in groceries." Louise hesitated a moment with a bowed head. Then she reached into her purse and took out a piece of paper and scribbled something on it. She then laid the piece of paper on the scale carefully with her head still bowed. The eyes of the grocer and the customer showed amazement when the scale went down and stayed down. The grocer, staring at the scales, turned slowly to the customer and said begrudgingly, "I can't believe it." The customer smiled and the grocer started putting the groceries on the other side of the scales. The scale did not balance so he continued to put more and more groceries on them until the scales would hold no more. The grocer stood there in utter disgust. Finally, he grabbed the piece of paper from the scales and looked at it with greater amazement. It was not a grocery list. It was instead a prayer which said: "Dear Lord, you know my needs and I am leaving this in your hands." The grocer gave her the groceries that he had gathered and stood in stunned silence. Louise thanked him and left the store. The customer handed a fifty-dollar bill to the grocer and said, "It was worth every penny of it." It was sometime later that the grocer discovered the scales were broken; therefore, only God knows how much a prayer weighs. __._,_.___

All SMS Types Posted: 27 Jun 2012 09:41 PM PDT [AffirmationstoDe-Stress] Heart opener Posted: 27 Jun 2012 08:55 PM PDT | File - Bee, What a Great Recipe for Life.htm Posted: 27 Jun 2012 03:04 AM PDT Bee, What a great recipe for life! August 5, 2005 Dear Bee and Everyone with Candida, I just wanted to take the time to shed some light on what it is you do. I know that most people here greatly appreciate your helpful insights and wisdom, but few realize just how good you are. My case in point: There is SO MUCH information, suggestions, product claims, etc. out there that it's difficult - often times impossible - to know what's right or who has the best information. And in a search to "fix" my sick body my Candidiasis had the great privilege of following your advice, with good results, for the beginning of my healing crisis. Then, my curiosity (and tenacity) got the best of me and I sought out more & more & more information. My information search turned up thousands of suggestions. Some good, some bad, and some that contradicted your suggestions entirely! (How dare them!); and I found myself in the depths of confusion as to what our bodies REALLY needed to repair themselves. In this state of confusion I foolishly jumped ship and landed smack in the middle of Sickville, USA. (My rigid cells can vouch for it.) Then, a little spark in my brain fog guided me back to better days to the lady I like to call "Aunt Bee". And Bee, I'm not quite sure how you do it, because after researching thousands of hours in the last year, and learning about the good, the bad and the ugly, your information is more complete, more effective, and more compelling than ANYTHING out there. Now I know you do a lot of research to arrive at your findings, but there's something intuitive about your approach, something from the heart that others are lacking... and for that I am forever grateful! So for everybody out there who's struggling with their Candida, and struggling with their family and friend's confusion about your "weird" actions; just know that you are at the right place and you're doing the right thing. And with time and persistence - and Bee's advice - you will feel good again! Sincerely, Scott PS Bee's list on "How to Help Your Adrenals" is magnificently complete. I printed two copies: one to put on the front page of my Candida Success folder and the other to post on my fridge. Thank you Bee, for all your hard work! | [candidasupport] Re: Just checking in here. Posted: 27 Jun 2012 01:12 AM PDT Hi, Ali: Thanks for writing to me! Yes, I gotta climb back on the wagon. I was hoping that taking the supplements wasn't a saste, and that I was still helping myself by at least taking them even if I cheated. My mom had a sweet tooth and was diagnosed as a type II diabetic shortly before her death at 69, 16 years ago. She was addicted to stuff like whipped cream cake, and I used to eat a lot of baked gooda and other junk food in my younger years. Yes, it is a vicious cycle, because the more you eat them the more you want them. If I'm careful, I can actually eat an almost "legal" meal at places like the Asia Buffet, because I can eat mostly meats, seafoods, and salads. My sweetie eats a fair amount of carbs still, and I buy bread so that he can make sandwiches. It's hard to totally keep away from them, though... he's still eating things like Pop-Tarts. Fortunately I can mostly stay away from stuff like that. I know I still have a long ways to go, but early on I did have a breast cyst open and drain. I still have a small nodule there, which I imagine might swell and drain again at some point. I'm going to try IP6 and that incontinence treatment I wrote about. Gotta save up for it. I need car repairs and we want to move to Arizona, but saving up money is slow. My younger sister has just been diagnoxed with pre-diabetes. She looks a lot like me physically and is also tall. She has a lot of trouble with her legs, fibromyalgia, and body pains. I've gotten her to use coconut oil, but not sure if I can get her on this program totally. I'm hoping she can also get that incontinence treatment too. My other sister didn't have problems like that, so she was lucky that way. I'a also gettins somewhat averse to constantly making and eating bone broth and the full dose of coconut oil. I have started buying Kerrygold butter again. I get it at Trader Joe's, and the product is just as good as it ever was, though the price has gone up a little bit (now about $3.00 for an 8-ounce package). At Trader Joe's I can order a case of Kerrygold (20 packages). There's no price break for ordering a case but the stuff is just sooo good. > > > > > > > > Pam Maltzman > > > ------------------------------------ Disclaimer: The information contained herein is the opinion, personal experiences, and research of the individuals involved that are intended to inform and educate. I did have one job where they had remodeled the office and the carpeting had a stench. I'm historically not so sensitive to perfume, but really haven't had to deal with that in a LONG time, as my fellow and I work at home in our own home office. We do have the occasional spray of cat pee, though, as we have 4 of the little beasties supervising us. Well, best of luck with that! Posted: 27 Jun 2012 12:47 AM PDT www.naturalhealthlibrarian.com The above URL is the website for Bill sardi, who is a health writer. I recently read an article by him in which he mentions iron overload in the body as one cause of disease. He mentions it in relation to diabetes, insulin resistance, cancer, infections, etc. He actually advocates cutting down on red meat in the diet for this reason (iron overload). He recommends the supplement IP6 for, among other things, chelating excess iron out of the body. Although I am happy to eat red meat for the taste and health beneits, I am wondering if you see any danger on eating "too much" red meat for this reason. I agree that the lipid hypothesis of heart disease is totally wrong. However, I am wondering if this writer has a point here with iron overload. He also mentions the possibility of some people with excess iron donating blood in order to bring the ferritin level down, and that this (and taking IP6) would have a salutary effect on diabetes. I have never had a ferritin level tested on my blood. As I think I stated in a previous message, I am going to give IP6 a try. I can't think of any particular downside to this, as this form of inositol is basiclally a form of a B vitamin. Thanks in advance for any information you may have, Bee. BTW, I am going to climb back on the wagon. I have a pot of chicken bones turning into broth on the stove tonight, simmering. I have a small bottle of the apple cider vinegar and will buy another gallon for cooking. The last batch of broth I made I didn't like all that much, but this batch is already tasting good. I gotta get my intake of good fats back up there. I bought another small case of the Kerrygold butter. Dang but that stuff tastes wonderful. Posted: 26 Jun 2012 07:02 PM PDT Hi Pam - good to 'hear' from you again. Can you please refresh the page before you repeat your message just to make sure it posted, as you seem to be sending several similar repeat messages. Those darn carbs are so addictive aren't they. Trouble is, they interfere with the healing process - so taking the supplements whilst you are still eating bad foods is pointless and a waste of money. By now, having been on the diet so long, your health improvements should be much further ahead, but it seems in many ways you are going backwards. Your health will not improve if you don't follow the diet correctly. I hope you can get back on board properly and start to progress again. I even have gotten to the point lately where I don't like the broth as much as I used to. Gotta make some more, as it worked well for taking the coconut oil and butter. I've gotten Kerrygold butter again from Trader Joe's. They will order it by the case for anyone who asks. MIght also be able to order it rhrough a regular supermarket. The price has gone up to about $3.00 for an 8-ounce package, and a case contains 20 of those packages. IT's still the same great Kerrygold butter. I had been using regular butter for a while, but the extra effort to get this stuff is worth it. I had serious bedwetting problems as a child. One sister also did, one didn't. My father had those problems too as a kid. Both my parents were idiots, in that the only things they thought of to use for this problem were ridicule, threats, humiliation, and bribe ("I'll give yo money if you can stay dry for a week"). They never thought to take me to a doctor to see what, if anything, could be done. I had about 35 years of blessed dryness from the time I moved into my first apartment to the time just after menopause, and now I've got it big-time again. I can cope with it in the daytime, mostly, by making sure I go to the bathroom frequently. When out shopping I must be careful. But at night it's a messy problem. I sleep on a pile of waterproof pads and towels. If I'm lucky, the wetness is confined to that pile of pads and towels. Even though I have a waterproof mattress pad, the mattress itself is getting ruined. One friend of mine has used hyaluronic acid and says it has helped. She also says that when she got treated for shingles, her incontinence problem evaporated. To my knowledge I have not had shingles, but I did have chickenpox as a kid, and thatt's the same virus. Anyway, I was messing around on the internet last night, and ran across a treatment for incontinence. it's a combination of muscle stimulation and biofeedback. The device can be bought separately; if you go to a practitioner, they program the device for certain levels of stimulation, and they monitor progress. I have heard of Kegel exercises, but this seems to be an even better solution. I am very excited about this, and if I can work out a payment plan, I will definitely do this in the future. I am sick and tired of this problem, and I'd love to be able to sleep dry again. I can't be a guest overnight in friends' homes. I can't stay at motels when I travel. I don't like ruining a bed, and I hate having to buy tons of incontinence products. Here's the URL: http://www.incontrolmedical.com/?gclid=CIbDpKfq67ACFcsZQgodfFRDvA The device itself is about $595.00. PLus, if you went to a practitioner, there would be fees for their services. It's not cheap, but it would be worth it to me. This website has a list of practitioners who are trained in the use of this device. There is a chiropractor in Bakersfield, California, about 100 miles from where I live. I believe there may be other similar (and perhaps less expensive) devices available out there. Good luck to anyone else who might have this problem. Thanks so much for your resources! It is fantastic that you provide all this information to people who are in need. I think I get the gist of it, though I really need to re-read what sort of supplements I would need to be doing, and when to do them. I want to give a high-level summary of what I'm doing in the past 3 weeks, which I think is a huge improvement from my normal diet (yet I still just got a YI), which consisted of alcohol, sugar, and lots of carbs..though I do like salads. In the past 3 weeks, I have done what I would call "Phase 3" (only because I do use blueberries in plain yogurt and do red peppers and some carrots) of what they list I can eat on the candidadiet.com. For breakfast, I have eggs with peppers and onions, or I have brown rice with stevia and coconut oil or quinoa with coconut milk. For lunch, a salad with red peppers, celery, sunflower seeds, sometimes carrots, but I've recently limited that, and a very special candida-friendly dressing- Annie's Natural Chive and Lemon. No gluten, no vinegar. For dinner, chicken and veggies (and occasionally with brown rice). For snacks, I eat a lot of almonds, I do celery with almond butter, or greek yogurt with blueberries. As for drinks, just seltzer, water, or green tea (or cammomile). Also I drink 100% Cranberry (Just Cranberry, it's called)and add water and stevia to sweeten. I think I've done pretty darn good from what I used to do, and try to follow what I've read online. I also take probiotics, 3lac, garlic supplements, 1000 mg of Vitamin C 2x a day, Calcium (and try to remember my magnesium), and SF722 (recently). Oh yeah and diflucan 2x a week. I agree with you about diflucan it's obviously not working and I'm afraid I'm getting a resistance to it. My specialist insists I stay with it, but I don't want to. I've read boric acid can be used to prevent recurrences. I am currently using it now to clear up the YI I developed yesterday. Instead of diflucan, can I use 2 boric acids a week (one ever y 3-4 days) to prevent a reoccurance? I just can't stand having these infections!! I'm not sure what else to do. Is there anything that I'm doing now that I should stop doing? Your diet seems super meat focused, and I'm not a huge meat person. I was surprised to see that you are saying to limit the veggies. I thought that was supposed to be the basis of the candida diet not that I really like veggies either, lol! Do I really have to eliminate things like brown rice and quinoa? I've read they are good on candida diet. Also, do you think this is a systematic infection? And why would this all be so dramatic(when I've never had problems before) just because I took 7 days of antibiotics. I've touched NONE of it since? If my immune system works, neither I nor my doctors understand why I can't beat this. Thanks Bee. --- In candidasupport@yahoogroups.com, "Bee" <beeisbuzzing2003@...> wrote: > > Hello, > Welcome to our group. What is your name please? First of all- I wanted to say THANK YOU BEE for all the research and time/energy you've invested in helping me and so many others get healthy again! I have been on your program for 1.5 yrs now and haven't felt better!!! Although I occasionally cheat( very very very seldom) I know my body is stronger than its ever been. When I first started your program, I hardly ever sweat and or went to the bathroom. I use to think I just had a HUGE bladder:) I now use the bathroom very often(urinate) and sweat whenever I'm working out or outside for long periods of time. I just wanted to make sure it's healthy to urinate pretty often as this isn't a normal thing for me. I also have noticed that on my towel after I wipe off the sweat, it's a brownish yellow color on the towel. I'm occasionally doing an infared sauna and notice it more after my sessions. Other than that, my body is getting stronger and I feel great! I am 32 yrs old and feel better than when I was in my 20s'. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all that you do for so any of us! Re: [candidasupport] Re: symptoms Posted: 26 Jun 2012 09:20 AM PDT ________________________________ Hi Ali, Thank so much for your wonderful reply. So great that someone like you stick around to clear up so many things that seem illogical, as we go through this healing trip. I would never have guessed that saliva correlates with hormones and of course, that is a major issue for me, so that explains a lot. Also what Cindy said, that it's a way of ridding of toxins. My situation here seems to be getting worse every day, but indeed, compared to six month of extreme skin hell, this is Ok. You are so right, that we have no idea of the insidious damage until the healing process tells us about it. It's scary what our body was burring deep. I can't even relate any of this now, to past incidents that would give me a clue, like you did with you ankle and tooth and back. I thought I was pretty damn healthy and strong, until I completely fell apart a few years ago. I didn't even have gray hair and I still don't at the age of 47 and this for someone that had been on birth control since she was 16 and so obviously suffering with thyroid issues. But things sure went bad quickly, once my body reached a point. I do suspect that all my inner organs have been rotting quietly for yeas and all the overall pain now is related to kidney, bladder, liver, spleen and gall bladder issues. My teeth have been extremely yellow with horrid brown spots (thankfully mostly on the inside) in recent month. Now, thankfully, my upper teeth are getting nice and white again, but my bottom ones are still quite ugly. These teeth are all related to the organs I have mentioned and so this is my clue. My back is twisted and painful and those too, are all spots related to those inner organs. Including some very bad headaches that I am now plagued with and never had before. The hardest thing right now is eating, I am nauseated and all I want to do is throw up, if anything. I am forcing food down though. Bee would probably say I should go back on all liquid diet again, but I can't bear the thought of it, it will make me want to throw up even worse. I have to function though, with two kids and a husband that is not supportive of all these' shenanigans' there's no 'being sick' allowed :) I have managed to keep up the good work at home, so I guess I'll survive. I sure hope you husband is doing better Ali, I think of you often. Love Juno Hi Juno. I find I get bouts of feeling really ill sometimes as my body goes through the healing process. I too have had issues sometimes that seem to be unrelated to anything I have been aware of in the past - but I have come to the conclusion that it comes back the compensation thing again. Whilst there has been damage going on it has been so quiet and insidious I have been completely unaware of it - and it is only the healing process that has brought to to my attention! Years ago - when I was in my 20s, I used to get a very itchy back - just inside my left shoulder-blade. I was always having to get my hub to scratch it for me. Forget the amorous stuff - just scratch me back! Oddly, although itchy, the skin in that area was quite numb. Eventually, maybe 15 years later the itching stopped. I didn't really notice at the time strangely but looking back I can see it now. Gradually, from then on my upper back would ache instead. and slowly it got weaker and weaker, until when I was really ill before I jumped on Bee's diet, my back became so weak I could hardly sit unaided (needed arms on chairs). When my healing journey kicked off in earnest some 8 months into the diet it went berserk in my back. Muscles twitching, flexing, spontaneously tensing and releasing. Awesome stuff. Since then - over a year now - the healing in there renders areas of my back quite sore. It gets a bit tiring at times and keeps me awake too - sometimes I wish it would just shut up and go away and leave me in peace, but the very fact that my back is a lot stronger tells me it is working hard to put right that quiet, insidious damage. The healing response has generally been a lot more intense than the original damage - but then it is healing it all in a fraction of the time it took to get bad. Our bodies do what they need to to get well - even though we don't always understand why. I suspect the saliva thing is a detox issue - your body is trying to readjust hormones and elements within your body and the saliva issue is undoubtedly linked. For 6 months during the healing in my back I had a very uncomfortable pain on the top of my right foot. What did that are equate with on the reflexology chart? The upper back..... Right now, my body is working on my sciatic nerves. I keep getting twitches and pains deep in my buttocks and in my legs - and a pain in my left heel that equates with....the sciatic nerve.... I have had not specific issue with sciatica that I am aware of, but thinking back I did turn over in bed one morning some 9 years ago and trapped a nerve in my thigh that took several weeks to recover from, so there obviously has been an issue there - that I hadn't considered. Bee may have other suggestions about the saliva issue etc., but in the meantime you probably just need to try and hang in there. If you managed to get through 6 months of horrendous itchy rashes, this has to be a doddle in comparison - LOL! I'd love to say 'I feel your pain' - but I have quite enough of my own pain to put up with at the moment! LOL. Hugs, Ali. PS. I had toothache last week. Gradually built up to a crescendo on Thursday (treated with plenty of vitamin C and oregano oil rubbed into the gum) and then abated over the next few days. It's fine now. The amazing thing? That tooth has a crown. Some time after it was originally fitted - probably getting on for 20 years ago now, a lump formed in my gum that protruded above that tooth. Since the toothache last week, the lump has gradually been shrinking...... --- In candidasupport@yahoogroups.com, Juno California <junocalifornia@...> wrote: > > Hi Bee > I have been experiencing a bad spell of feeling ill and weak, my bones ache and when I lay down to sleep, or rest it gets worse. Tests done at different times will change whether you change nutrients like supplements or not, so I don't think eliminating supplements or anything on my program will make any difference. It is up to you whether the results of the test are so important that you must experiment for 1 month. I cannot say it will be detrimental but you will find out for yourself when you do it. Here it is in its entirety. Tell me not, in mournful numbers, Life is but an empty dream! For the soul is dead that slumbers, And things are not what they seem. Life is real! Life is earnest! And the grave is not its goal; Dust thou art, to dust returnest, Was not spoken of the soul. Not enjoyment, and not sorrow, Is our destined end or way; But to act, that each to-morrow Find us farther than to-day. Art is long, and Time is fleeting, And our hearts, though stout and brave, Still, like muffled drums, are beating Funeral marches to the grave. In the world's broad field of battle, In the bivouac of Life, Be not like dumb, driven cattle! Be a hero in the strife! Trust no Future, howe'er pleasant! Let the dead Past bury its dead! Act,— act in the living Present! Heart within, and God o'erhead! Lives of great men all remind us We can make our lives sublime, And, departing, leave behind us Footprints on the sands of time; Footprints, that perhaps another, Sailing o'er life's solemn main, A forlorn and shipwrecked brother, Seeing, shall take heart again. Let us, then, be up and doing, With a heart for any fate; Still achieving, still pursuing, Learn to labor and to wait. ~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow~ Thank you for inviting MountainWings into your mailbox. The first book was The Missing Diagnosis was by Dr. Truss. Dr. Trowbridge wrote The Yeast Syndrome. I actually followed Dr. William Crook's recommendations in his Yeast Connection book back in 1985, took nystatin, probiotics, tried to follow his diet, etc. However I couldn't eat all of the foods he recommended. My stomach was my worst symptom and at one point in time I could only eat 9 foods in the whole world since everything else came back up. I realized that those foods were the lowest in sugars and starches and the most unadulterated. So I had to modify the diet and got much better, but it didn't heal all of my health problems and issues. It wasn't until I discovered the importance of animal meats and fats for our health, and that candida and other bugs are not the "cause" of health issues, how the body heals itself, etc. that I was able to put together this program which improves anyone's health - see these Success Stories: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/success/index.php Knowledge is power, so please read my articles to understand "the truth about candida" and so you are on the same page as everyone else on this group. I can't say Bee's system works because I haven't started it yet. I'm still reading up on it all.. but the 'typical' protocol of GAPS diet and anti-funguals do not! no matter how long or hard you try. because the yeast is there for a reason. It is precisely the fact that Bee's advice goes against every other expert's that is the reason it works and they don't. I tried for well over 30 years to rid my body of Candida by following the advice of all the other experts, without success, yet within 18 months of being on Bee's diet I was no longer a walking 'fungus factory'. 'Treatments' like Nystatin etc., only work at best to 'knock back' the Candida for a short time, but because the underlying issues are not addressed it usually comes back with a vengeance. Candida is not a cause of ill health - it is yet another symptom. The ill health starts long before the Candida appears. The Western diet and lifestyle slowly and insidiously whittles away at our nutritional strength - and as Bee points out, for many of us, the nutritional weakness goes right back to the womb. As I often mention, our bodies are amazingly good at compensating. They compensate and compensate until they can compensate no longer - and that is when symptoms start to manifest. In nature, yeasts ferment and break down organic compounds. The more disease there is inside our bodies, the more yeasts will be present. The optimum way to deal with the yeasts is to give the body the nutrition it needs to heal the damage and decay, not only removing the need for the yeasts, but rebuilding our health into the bargain - two benefits for the price of one! Everyone who follows this diet and protocol correctly should heal. There are many of us on this group who are. Although the amount of damage and length of time one has been sick may influence the outcome, the general pattern of healing takes one month for every year you have been sick, and for many of us that goes right back to conception. Following this diet indefinitely is the key. It was following the 'Western' diet with its plethora of sugar, carbs and processed foods - plus things like antibiotics and other drugs and chemicals that generally got us into this mess, so few of us are inclined to ever want to go back to eating that way once we see the benefits of avoiding those foods and substances. With anything though, the proof is very much in the 'pudding'. It is not until you yourself start to experience the benefits of the diet that you realise it really does work. All the information you need to start the diet is outlined in the links Bee gave you - and there is a wealth of further information on her website, so read all you can to help you understand why the diet works, and why the common conception of how to 'treat' Candida is wrong. I'm new here. I have 6 children (ages 6 through 16) and I've read a lot of what you have posted on your web site about how to do your anticandida diet with children. We started gaps in December 2011 and did the gaps intro in February and March 2012. Some of the issues we're dealing with include allergies, asthma, dyslexia, apraxia, ocd, migraines and chronic constipation. We've had some healing, but once fruit/honey/cheese/peanut butter come back into their diets after intro, the cravings all came back and it's a constant battle to limit these foods. I have crunched the numbers and will be starting tomorrow on your meat and fat diet with the three youngest (and myself). I've been doing your diet for over a month and have been able to get rid of migraines, hot flashes, sleep issues and have lost a little weight (intentionally - I'm now 5'5", 126 pounds). The 8 year old will be getting 2000 calories and the six year olds, 1600 (the 6 year olds are underweight, the 8 year old is the correct weight), 20% of their calories will be protein and 80%, fat. My question is, does the 1 month per year apply here? In other words, will my 8 year old truly need only 8 months of this diet for healing (approximately)? I was actually planning of having us all do your meat/fat diet for 40 days and then slowly start adding in carbs until they reach your ideal ratios. We would then continue eating your diet for 8 months (well, 4 years for me - I'm 47!) Is this a good idea, or do you feel it is too restrictive for children and may cause health problems? I have all the supplements and have determined how much they will each need. We will start with lower fat/more protein intially and work up to the 80/20 to aid food digestion and keep die-off from being unbearable. Is it appropriate to use HCl to help with fat digestion in the beginning? (I'm sorry, I haven't run accross that yet in my reading of your site - I'm sure this has been asked before.) Anyway, I'm so very appreciative of all the concern you show everyone by sharing your wisdom! What a treasure you are! I thought I had read that most spices are irradiated. I had read the quote below that in the U.S irradiated foods must be marked with that logo, which I saw a picture of. Since I read that, I have looked for the logo on packaging of mostley spices in many different stores. I have not seen it. Even on the cheapest of spices in the dollar store. When I read it before I missed the "by law" part so I didn't put much weight on things being marked. It seems that if it is law, that means that those spices in the dollar store have not been irradiated since they are not marked with the logo or anything stating that they have been irradiated. I guess we just have to trust that companies are compliant with current regulations. Any thoughts on this? The naturopathic vet I saw today prescribed both antibiotics and phytotherapy, and she performed acupuncture and osteopathy on my cats. She said she is usually very reluctant to prescribe antibiotics, and she was appalled to know that my cats had to get vaccinated against rabies a second time within a few months as a travel requirement because, as she said, that seriously weakened their immunity. I'm not sure whether I will give them the antibiotics but she said that their temperature was really elevated and not going down, so she is very concerned. [AffirmationstoDe-Stress] MountainWings:Tuesday - The Psalm of Life Posted: 26 Jun 2012 05:08 AM PDT ------------------------------------------------- MountainWings A MountainWings Moment #12178 Wings Over The Mountains of Life ------------------------------------------------- The Psalm of Life ================== Yesterday's MountainWings was the last verse of my favorite poem, The Psalm of Life. It's really that simple. The secret is to stop looking at limitations as roadblocks. Instead, see all the opportunities life offers. Then something happens -- like an accident, or a death, or an illness -- that changes everything, forces us to reappraise our priorities and, often, reset our lives. People who have come close to disaster and been able to wheel free have shown a renewed appreciation for the simple pleasures of life, for the gift of each day, and a resolve not to put off pleasures or acts of kindness until "another day," because "another day" may not come. We who have lost loved ones have also learned the value of simple gifts, of not putting off kind words or actions, because we never know when events will change our world, the expected developments of our lives, and the intended recipients of our kind words and actions may be gone. If you look hard enough you might find a shortcut. But it probably won't take you where you truly wish to go. There are those who live with uncompromising integrity. Those who don't, surely and eventually wish they did. Ralph Marston
