It means you're finding hidden strengths you didn't know you possessed. And, you're equipped to get over obstacles and disappointments with grace.

Most of all, it means no regrets. No matter what, you're living an exciting life, doing what you were born to do.

Your attitudes are your choice. It's that simple. "Yes," you say, "but what about when people do bad things to me no matter what my attitude is?" Simply enough, your attitudes towards what they've done or said also is your choice, and your attitude will determine whether you work your way quickly past the pain or dwell in it and let it keep hurting you long after it happened.

Your attitudes are controllable. They are changeable. And they are one of the key factors in whether or not you're happy with life. If you're having trouble changing them for the better, then find a role model to observe, someone who has the type of attitude that you'd like to have. Emulate that person, and watch carefully how they approach their lives. We all have a lot to learn in life, and we can learn a lot about attitudes by watching other people in our lives.

There is magnificent beauty in life. And what's even better, is that you can make much, much more.

Delight in the beauty that's here right now. Let it inspire you to create new forms of beauty and value that have never existed before.

Remind yourself how good it is to be living in a world filled with endless possibilities. Express your sincere gratitude by bringing some of the best possibilities to life.

Open yourself to see the wonder and magnificence in even the smallest things. Feel how good it feels to be in awe of each moment you're in.

The way beyond life's negativity is not to fight it but to overwhelm it with joy. Let yourself be a constant conduit of life's immense joy.

It seems that each one of us is in a never-ending quest to have more, be more and do more. Our lives become a blur of activities that we don't necessarily enjoy. As for the things that we do enjoy, the pleasures and pastimes that recharged our souls remain forever on a "to-do" list. In all the hustle and bustle, it is too easy to lose yourself.

Take control! Don't be afraid to ask for help with those mundane, daily tasks. And, most important, don't feel afraid or guilty about saying "No!" when you need time to recharge.

Deep inside, you know what's most important. Always putting yourself second doesn't serve anyone. Now, take out your "to-do" list and start doing! It's the best way to keep in touch with who you really are.

I've learned that if someone says something unkind about me,
I must live so that no one will believe it.

I've learned that you can make some one's day
by simply sending them a little note.

I've learned that the greater a person's sense of guilt,
the greater his or her need to cast blame on others.

I've learned that no matter what happens, or how bad it seems today,
life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow.

I've learned that hotel mattresses are better on the side away from the phone.

I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles
these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights.

I've learned that regardless of your relationship with your parents,
you'll miss them when they're gone from your life.

I've learned that making a "living" is not the same thing as making a "life."

I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance.

I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both
hands. You need to be able to throw something back.

I've learned that if you pursue happiness, it will elude you. But if you
focus on your family, your friends, the needs of others, your work and doing
the very best you can, happiness will find you.

I've learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart,
I usually make the right decision.

I've learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one.

I've learned that every day you should reach out and touch someone.
People love that human touch -- holding hands, a warm hug, or just a friendly
pat on the back.

I've learned that I still have a lot to learn.

More than just getting by

You can do just enough to get by, but then all you get for your trouble is to stay where you already were. With a little more effort, you can make your efforts truly count for something.

As long as you're doing the work, you might as well use the opportunity to create meaningful value. As long as you're putting in the time, you might as well get some significant rewards from what you're doing.

If your attitude is to just get by, you're setting yourself up for frustration and resentment. When, on the other hand, your goal is to give your very best, even the obstacles become opportunities to move forward.

Instead of calculating how little you can get by with doing, get enthusiastic about how much you have the opportunity to accomplish. Instead of feeling trapped by your obligations, choose to feel empowered by your ability to make a difference.

There is nothing to be gained by making yourself miserable about what you must do. There's everything to be gained by fully investing yourself in the work you're doing.

Do yourself a big favor, and go beyond just getting by. Rise above your obligations, and transform them into opportunities for spectacular achievement.
