Dear Friend,

As National Poetry Month 2014 wanes, I want to thank you for reading Poem-a-Day. I hope you’ve enjoyed the selections we’ve published this April, and that you might have had some time to explore our other offerings this month, including our educational Poet-to-Poet project, which has inspired close to 1,000 students to write and submit poems to Poets.org.

This year, as the Academy of American Poets celebrates its 80th anniversary, I hope you might take a moment to help us continue to deliver quality programming like Poet-to-Poet and Poem-a-Day.

As a nonprofit organization with a devoted, but small staff, we rely on your support. If you haven’t yet donated this National Poetry Month, please do so today. We hope to raise an additional $5,000 to push us past our $25,000 goal to support our educational programs in the year ahead.

I’m very grateful for your assistance.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Benka
Executive Director
Academy of American Poets
