About This Poem

 

“Song of Nature” was first published in Emerson’s book May-Day and Other Pieces (Houghton Mifflin, 1883).

 

Ralph Waldo Emerson was born on May 25, 1803, in Boston, Massachusetts. He is best known for his book Nature, published in 1836 and considered a foundational text of the Transcendentalist movement. Emerson died in 1882.
