We all believe in luck, and in having lucky charms. Bollywood superstars are not far behind and believe in quirky talismans and superstitions as well. Most of the superstitions are related to their films and we understand that completely. We know Karan Johar and Ekta Kapoor's obsession with the word 'K' and Salman Khan's love for his blue sapphire bracelet. But that's not all! Here's a few more of them.
1. King Khan's obsession with '555'!
King Khan believes that 555 always works in his favor. If he gets a chance, he confessed that he won't ever mind using the number everywhere. His car's registration is '555' and the bike he is seen riding in the film Chennai express also had 555 on the number plate!
King Khan also owns a BMW convertible, a Bentley continental GT, a Rolls Royce Phantom, and a Mitsubishi Pajero SUV and most of them have a 555 on the number plate!
2. Katrina Kaif and her love for Ajmer Sharif Dargah.
Katrina ensures that she visits the Dargah of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti in Ajmer before any of her films release.
3. Bipasha Basu and her obsession with 'Nimbu Mirchis'!
Bipasha had revealed that "Nimboo-mirchi is something we all do. It is just to ward off the evil. Every Saturday I buy it and put it on my car. My mother has made it a tradition and asked me to do it." Apart from that, one of the marketing strategies for Raaz 3 also had Bipasha putting nimbu mirchis on autos across Mumbai! How much is too much? We still are not sure.
4. Big B and his 'lucky charm', blue sapphire!
After Bachchan Corporation Limited (ABCL) was on the verge of bankruptcy, Big B started wearing blue sapphire ring. The ring worked its magic and he landed an offer to host TV reality show, Kaun Banega Crorepati. The rest, as they say, is history.
5. Vidya Balan and her obsession with Hashmi! No, not Emraan Hashmi. We mean Hashmi Kaajal.
Bollywood stars definitely splurge a lot on their make-up and cosmetics, but Vidya Balan is different! When it comes to kohl, Vidya's brand of choice is Hashmi Kajal. Hashmi Kajal is a popular kajal brand from Pakistan. She considers it to be her lucky charm. Also, she is sort of obsessed with the colour red. After winning a national award for her movie The Dirty Picture, she started using more red in her films. She ended up wearing a red saree instead of the traditional green one for a Lavani item song she did for the film Ferrari Ki Sawaari.
6. R. Madhavan finds Hyderabad Airport, his lucky charm!
After 3 Idiots became a hit, Hyderabad Airport became his lucky charm, since the airport scene in the beginning of the film was shot there. An inside source revealed that he had requested his Tanu Weds Manu director Aanand L. Rai to shoot the airport screen in Hyderabad! He added "Madhavan felt that the airport scene as the first shot had proven very lucky for him, and he wanted to keep the magic alive in Tanu Weds Manu also."
7. Kajol and her affair with her Om-Studded Diamond Ring is still going strong!
Audience have time and again spotted Kajol wearing a Om (in Devnagiri script) studded diamond ring! Not only does she considers it her lucky charm, she has never stopped wearing the ring. She also claims that the ring brings emotional calm to her mind. The ring was a gift by Kajol's husband and actor, Ajay Devgn. Now we know why the ring is lucky and special for her. Don't we? ;)
8. Bollywood's 100-Crore Queen aka Deepika Padukone's lucky charm is Siddhi Vinayak Mandir in Mumbai.
Deepika, who is an actress with maximum number of 100-crore films in her kitty, loves visiting Siddhi Vinayak frequently! Be it before her film's release or after the success of the film, she never fails to visit Siddhi Vinayak. She has carried on with the ritual for almost all her releases including, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Chennai Express and Goliyon Ki Raasleela: Ram-Leela. That's some faith!
9. Akshay Kumar thinks he himself is the biggest jinx of his life. He avoids staying in India when his movies release!
According to Akki, he himself thinks he might bring a bad luck to his films. As his films reach their release dates, Akki prefers flying far away from India, in order to not jinx his films! That's weird.
10. No points for guessing Karan Johar's lucky charm! No, not SRK. We're talking of Kajol here.
In a candid interview with Times Of India, Karan Johar openly said "I don't like breaking tradition; I am a creature of habit. Kajol's presence is very important for me. She has been there in every film of mine and she has always been lucky."! A pregnant Kajol didn't shy away from dancing for her director friend Karan Johar for his film Kal Ho Na Ho! That's beyond sweet, isn't it? :)
11. Shahid Kapoor thinks his lucky charm in Bollywood is Vishal Bhardwaj! If you thought it was Mira, well...!
After success of films like Kaminey and Haider, we too would like to believe this. Shahid had also confessed this in one of the press meets and he exclaimed, "One works with all kinds of directors. When he (Bhardwaj) wrote the script of 'Haider', he called me and said 'You are very lucky. Whenever I cast you in any film, your role is written really well.' I guess, he is really lucky for me. I have never received this kind of response for myself!"
