Alcohol might help you to unwind for a moment but sleeping drunk might not be a very good idea because you would certainly not like to wake up the next day like you haven't had any rest at all. According to a British researcher drinking alcohol before you snooze can reduce the quality of your sleep. Here are a few side effects to your body and brain when you sleep drunk:

1. Heavy drinking effects your sleep quality

Access alcohol intake can do a lot of harm to your sleep cycle and can put you to sleep immediately. According to the researches heavy drinking can make you feel sad and depressed, and you might get tired quicker than you otherwise will. Drinking becomes risky to the point when your pulse rate goes up and increases your anxiety levels.

2. Your heart rate goes up

Heavy to moderate drinking can damage the heart over time, and cause problems like high blood pressure, enlarged or weekend heart, which can be life threatening as well at some point. Increase heart rate is the most prominent symptom of these conditions.

3. It effects your brain

Most heavy drinkers experience some form of memory loss when they get up the next day which is certainly not a good sign. It might be a signal that you have developed some form of amnesia though there are different grades, ranging from hazy recollection to absolutely no memory at all at least once, according to a study younger adults are more prone to this.

4. You sweat like a pig and pee like a cow

Alcohol is more of a diuretic and it directly acts on your kidneys making you pee more than you take in which is not a very good sign for the health of your kidneys. Excessive intake of alcohol can reduces the production of a hormone called vasopressin, which signals your kidneys to reabsorb water rather than flush it out through the bladder. Heavy drinking can hinder the body's natural process of peeing.

5. You tend to snore like a tractor

When you drink, the alcohol goes through the digestive system into the blood and then reaches the brain, where it acts as a relaxant. Even your throat muscles goes on a relaxing mode and that's the reason people tend to snore after they sleep drunk.

6. You wake up tired and exhausted

You body actually needs time to process alcohol, and if you sleep drunk then you might get up all tired and unhappy which is certainly no fun.
