Djuna Barnes was born on June 12, 1892, in Cornwall-on-Hudson, New York. Her collections of poetry include The Book of Repulsive Women (Guido Bruno, 1915), in addition to the novel Nightwood (Harcourt, Brace and Co., 1937). She died on June 18, 1982.
