Get Your Free 2017 Poster   Author and artist Maira Kalman, whose illustrations have been featured in The New Yorker, among other publications, has designed this year's National Poetry Month poster. Every year we distribute more than 100,000 posters to libraries, schools, and bookstores across the United States. Get yours now, while supplies last! Dear Poet   Our multimedia education project Dear Poet invites students in grades five through twelve to write letters in response to poems shared by award-winning poets serving on our Board of Chancellors. This year, Mark Doty, Linda Gregerson, Juan Felipe Herrera, Brenda Hillman, Jane Hirshfield, Khaled Mattawa, Marilyn Nelson, Alicia Ostriker, Alberto Ríos, Arthur Sze, and Anne Waldman recite their poems in a series of exclusive videos on Poets.org. Teachers interested in bringing Dear Poet to the classroom can use our tailored lesson plan. U.S. Poet Laureate Juan Felipe Herrera   Watch Juan Felipe Herrera recite his poem "You Can't Put Muhammad Ali in a Poem" as part of this year's Dear Poet project.     Share your poetry events on our national Poetry Near You calendar. Poetry & the Creative Mind   Award-winning actress Meryl Streep will host this year's Poetry & the Creative Mind celebration on April 19 at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall in New York City.
