About This Poem

 

"Afternoon on a Hill" was published in Renascence and Other Poems (Harper & Brothers, 1917).

 

Edna St. Vincent Millay was born in Rockland, Maine, in 1892. Her collections of poetry include Second April (Harper & Brothers, 1921) and The Ballad of the Harp-Weaver (F. Shay, 1922), which was awarded the Pulitzer Prize. She died in 1950.
