About This Poem

 

"Barter" appeared in Love Songs (The Macmillan Company, 1917).

 

Sara Teasdale was born in 1884 in St. Louis, Missouri. Her poetry collections include Sonnets to Duse and Other Poems (The Poet Lore Company, 1907), Rivers to the Sea (The Macmillan Company, 1915), and Love Songs (The Macmillan Company, 1917), which received the Pulitzer Prize. She died in 1933.
