About This Poem
"Her Lips Are Copper Wire" was published in Cane (Boni and Liveright, 1923).
Jean Toomer was born on December 26, 1894, in Washington, D.C. A writer of prose and poetry, he is most known for his hybrid classic, Cane (Boni and Liveright, 1923). He died in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, on March 30, 1967.
