Engrish refers to grammatically incorrect variations of English, often found in East Asian countries. From poorly translated signs, menus, and instruction manuals to bizarrely worded advertisements and strange t-shirt slogans, meet twenty funny engrish signs.

    The Boat-Header

    I saw you
    unexpectedly
    on the street today.
    Though it was midday
    your eyes were dilated,

    and you seemed
    almost electrically
    charged with thought,
    with an increased
    speed of speaking:

    "I garden, I grill meat,
    I prowl the bars."
    But I was having
    difficulty listening.
    Your teeth were growing.

    A muscle
    spasmed against
    my diaphragm;
    I needed
    a bag of ice.

    Still, I could see
    those rooms
    with perfect clarity:
    the coat rack
    and bureau,

    the dinner plates
    with congealed meat,
    the flea market Piranesi,
    and the long mirrors
    like camera lenses

    freezing us
    as the boat-header
    gave you his final
    thrusts, preparatory
    to the cutting-in.

    A man who stayed a virgin until the age 34 has become a father of 82 in the space of just nine years and he has another ten children on the way. Dutchman Ed Houben, 42, sleeps with around 15 childless women a month in a bid to make their quests to become mothers a reality. He is understood to be the most prolific professional babymaker in the world - and what he does is all legal.

     
    His 'family' lives in cities like Berlin - three children - and in Holland, Italy, Spain, Belgium, France and even New Zealand. The eldest is now nine while the youngest is two months old. He began donating sperm to local clinics. Then he found there was a market for procreation the natural way and he has never looked back. Spermaspender.de. in Germany is one of the websites he uses to connect with childless women desperate to conceive. They know Ed has a good pedigree; he gives 80 per cent of the females he has sex with a child.

     
    He has sired 45 girls and 35 boys. Two of the the brood he doesn't know the sex of because the mothers won't tell him. 'My girlfriend says that what I do only makes me more interesting,' he told Germany's Der Spiegel magazine. 'She's coming to visit again soon.' But he hasn't managed to make her pregnant yet.

    The Academy is pleased to announce that former Academy of American Poets Chancellor and Pulitzer Prize-winning poet John Ashbery will be the judge for the 2013 Walt Whitman Award. The award includes publication of an American poet's first book, a cash prize of $5,000, and a one-month residency at the Vermont Studio Center. Submissions will be accepted online only from September 15 until November 15. Since 1934, the Academy of American Poets has awarded more money to poets than any other organization.

    You see them through water and glass,
    (both liquids) and through air
    with plenty of liquid in it
    —water is moving through the air—
    you see the large dolphins animated,
    unfractious in their native
    drink, going
    back and forth interacting with
    some sort of rings—in a minute-long video—
    in a loop, we see these
    dolphins again and again
    looping through rings,
    in indirect discourse
    ringing through the loops.
    We see, you see, dolphins
    advertising something
    we don't have and
    we don't want; advertising
    exfoliants and astringents,
    humectants,
    which dolphins don't
    know about and wouldn't
    want if they did, the
    sloe-eyed ones. They
    make us feel free,
    silent. "Nature film,
    nature film!" See them
    in their independence
    through water and glass articulating
    dolphin home truths.
