Dear Friend,

Thank you for being a part of our circle of poets and poetry readers. Your interest and enthusiasm helped the Academy of American Poets reach more people than ever before this year.

I'm pleased to share that our essays and resources on Poets.org, National Poetry Month education project, Poem-A-Day poems, and award-winning books reached tens of millions of individuals in 2013.

In January, the Academy of American Poets will enter its 80th year of service to poets. We continue to be inspired by our founder Marie Bullock's commitment to introducing readers to talented poets.

It's poets who sculpt ideas, images, and experiences in language that reverberates across our lifetime and beyond; whose lines we turn to for a distillation of truth we can hold like a mantra in our mind.

What lines of poetry sustain you; do you circle back to again and again? Share the lines of poetry that have shaped your life. Email me at JenBenka@poets.org.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Benka-signature
