Orange gleams athwart a crimson soul Lambent flames; purple passion lurks In your dusk eyes. Red mouth; flower soft, Your soul leaps up—and flashes Star-like, white, flame-hot. Inez!” by Alice Moore Dunbar-Nelson is originally from a 1921 holograph manuscript.   Alice Moore Dunbar-Nelson, an American poet, journalist, and political activist, was born in 1875 in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was involved in the Harlem Renaissance cultural movement, and published several texts before her death in 1935.
