[Fropki] 9 Things People Who Lie All The Time Will Understand

Nargis Fakhri Poses for Asia Spa

Everyone at some point or the other has lied. Some might have been minor lies that can be ignored, while some could have been really heart breaking ones. Sadly, a world without lies does not exist. And people have made lying a way of life. Take a look.

1. A lie is okay till the time it doesn't hurt anyone.

These are very basic lies like being in two places at once and nobody is going to find out and nobody will cry. So, why not?

2. Tripping on people is more fun when you are lying.

When you lie or exaggerate, people give the best reactions. Totally worth it!

3. Storytelling is YOUR thing.

Because it's fun to go as far as we can in terms of lying. On top of that, not getting caught despite endless lies is simply blissful.

4. Because you want to be the hero.

Studies have shown that people who indulge in compulsive lying are low on self esteem. To overcome that, they prefer to lie about themselves. They do this in order to become the 'hero' of their own story.

5. It is the easiest thing to do.

People who suffer from compulsive lying disorder apparently lie effortlessly. It is just a way of life, like a morning walk or the mandatory waking up ritual.

6. It gets you popularity and admiration.

Studies on compulsive lying have shown that people who dwell too much in lies are attention deprived. They may even tell you stories about being victims in certain situations or will probably narrate other people's stories of bravery as their own.

7. Nothing is ever boring for you.

When you are cooking up stories and adding more and more twists to an incident, boredom is out of the picture.

8. You are completely okay with fake stories.

Anything to do with lies suits your personality. Be it fake accents or the April fool's day.

9. It all comes naturally to you.

The beauty of being a liar is that you are not pretending anymore. Lying is a part of you and your personality.

[Fropki] 5 Ways You Didn't Know Sex Could Help Your Career

Posted: 01 Apr 2015 09:39 AM PDT

(Please let the pics open. Might take some time on a slower connection.
If you can't see the pictures, right click the small Red-Cross and choose Show Picture to view it.)

Emily Ratajkowski - Ostrich Look for Chanel Boat Party

No, we are not trying to add the word "sex" to anything and everything to grab your attention. You've heard of the saying "sex sells," which is why hot images of Bollywood actors appear so often in advertisements. But did you know sex can also improve your business and boost your career?

Our business and personal lives are two entirely separate entities, right? Wrong. In fact, what happens in your personal space and what happens at work often affect each other. For instance, you know how a terrible day at work can often make you irritable at home, and workplace stress can elevate your blood pressure and cause everything from headaches to insomnia.

Likewise, being happy at home can have a calming effect at work, helping you make more clear-headed decisions and making you less likely to fall ill or feel overwhelmed with stress. Sure, sex sells, but it also has the power to improve your 9-to-5 life, whether you're a worker bee or the boss. Having more sex has been linked to lower stress levels at work, and even higher pay.

1. People who get laid often, get paid more.

It might sound wrong at first, but hear it out. According to a research by the Institute for the Study of Labor, people who have sex at least four times a week make more money than their peers who get less busy. So basically, those who have more sex tend to be both happier and healthier, leading to better work attitude, better decision making skills because of low stress, and less discrimination, which in turn leads to higher pay packages.

2. Sex kills stress, improves health.

Sex is a major stress buster. Which means fewer sick days. According to the book Your Doctor is Wrong by Sharon Norling, frequent orgasms can increase life expectancy by three to eight years! Plus, a study by Arizona State University showed sexual behavior with a partner correlated with lower negative mood and higher positive mood the following day in middle-aged women.

3. Sex makes your immune system stronger.

Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) is a hormone released during sexual encounters, and it has a whole host of benefits. These include health benefits like reducing symptoms in women with lupus and alleviating depression. DHEA can even make you look and feel younger. According to a study by the Royal Edinburgh Hospital, people in their 40s who reported having 50 percent or more sex than their peers also appeared to be about seven to 13 years younger than their actual age when judged by a panel of strangers.

4. Say goodbye to office migraines.

"Love hormone" or oxytocin, released during sex, is also important in pain relief. Oxytocin is also released during labor in order to relieve pain. With its power to help relieve pain, the hormone could keep you feeling healthier and upbeat in your workspace.

5. Being an entrepreneur can improve your sex life.

Taking control of your own destiny by becoming an entrepreneur can be empowering. It can empower you in more ways than you can imagine. A recent survey of entrepreneurs found 14% reported having more sex after ditching their 9-to-5 job. So it works both ways - more sex can help your career with better health and higher wages, and finally breaking out on your own and following your entrepreneurial dreams can lead to more sex.

Movie-Inspired Cupcakes By DreamWorks Animator

Past a certain point, food art becomes so beautiful that you become unsure if you'd actually eat and ruin something so beautiful. Fernanda Abarca, an incredibly talented animator for DreamWorks who also creates realistic cakes, cupcakes and sugar sculptures, passed that point ages ago. Her detailed edible sculptures and cake toppers bring characters from popular animated movies to life.

Welcome to National Poetry Month

Thank you for celebrating poetry and the important place it occupies in our culture in April and all year long. As Chancellor Jane Hirshfield writes, “A poem makes clear without making simple. Poetry’s language carries what lives outside language.” We need the clarity poets provide. Here’s to a new year of poetry!

Congratulations to Our New Walt Whitman Winner

Sjohnna McCray has been selected by Pulitzer Prize winner Tracy K. Smith to receive the 2015 Walt Whitman Award. McCray’s book, Rapture, will be published by Graywolf Press, and he will receive a six-week residency at the Civitella Ranieri Center.

[AffirmationstoDe-Stress] File - Rules.txt

Posted: 01 Apr 2015 05:12 AM PDT

*** Important Announcement for the Affirmations Group! ***
(A friendly reminder for group members)
As of January 1, 2006 there will be major changes to the affirmations group regarding rules, manners, and ettiquette within the affirmations group!! POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS TO DE-STRESS was originally set up years ago to give support, love, and friendship to people these days in the highly fast-paced and stressful world that we now live in. There are always deadlines, obligations, and long "to do lists" of things we each need to accomplish on a daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly basis to keep ourselves healthy, happy, productive, and to bless our family members and friends and community.
POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS TO DE-STRESS was also originally set up to teach the "how's, why's, where's, and who's" of positive affirmations, positive thinking, positive living, and a positive outlook or response to daily life. This group was intended to give out unconditional love and acceptance to everyone -- which I am a firm believer in. This group also touches on meditation, ways of breathing better (for calmness, peace and good health). Yoga, tai chi, herbal remedies, different forms of spirituality, are also occasionally touched on in the affirmations group. Another big purpose of the affirmations group is to become more stress-free in daily life. In the past, we have touched on ways of dealing with anxiety and insomnia in this group.
POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS TO DE-STRESS was originally intended to teach people how to work on their self-esteem and self-confidence in order to magnify and be the best a person can be, and in being able to live with ourselves and look ourselves in the mirror face to face and to love what we see. "To thine own self, be true!" The affirmations group has tried to reach out to individuals and help them become better people and to then spread this message out to others throughout the world. "What you give out, shall come back to you!"
The affirmations group was never meant to be a counseling service or a place where people could divulge all their deep, dark troubles in their lives here or be a "dumping ground" where one could tell anyone anything here and still get love and support back. However, in some cases this is exactly what this group has become. I am a very kind-hearted, loving, genuine person who deeply cares for others. I have been through a lot of "stuff" in my lifetime, and dealt with a lot of troubles myself, which has made me more emphathetic to others and what they are going through. That is why I have tried so hard to reach out to everyone and lift people up with encouragement, hope and love. But, it seems that when I have tried to help others, this group tends to become a "dumping ground" where a few people have been helped perhaps, but many others get discouraged by hearing the troubles and difficulties of people over and over. I myself, tend to get down after awhile of this pattern. I feel that these changes are needed for the affirmations group to grow and blossom and to get back to its original roots and intentions.
As of January 1st, 2006: if anyone wants to write in an email to the affirmations group to tell us of all the difficulties and troubles in your life, please go elsewhere to do this. Join a different yahoo group or seek out help in the 12-step programs (either in person or through the internet). There are also groups on the web that deal with anxiety or depression, or chronic illnesses. Please join those groups to be able to write in and share your woes. But, please do not do that within the affirmations group.
POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS TO DE-STRESS is the TOOLBOX that each of us has to learn ways to cope better and de-stress, ways to become more positive in our lives, and how to benefit from using positive affirmations and positive thinking. This affirmations group is also where you can share your successes and stories of how you were, and how you became better!
* Now, I'm not asking every single person to never share that they are having a bad day, or a difficult week -- ALL of us need to vent occasionally. But, if we get on tirades of ONLY sharing the negative and the bad side of life, then we are detouring from our goal. That is why I am asking to keep the negative talk to a very minimum, ...and to even TRY TO SEE SOME POSITIVE within the negative talk. Reach out and try to discard the negative way of looking at things, and try to accentuate the positive and uplifting ways of hope and love and encouragement. *
*** Briefly, new rules are: 1) When sending in a message to the POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS TO DE-STRESS yahoo group, please think over what you want to say before writing it in an email to the group. How will your message affect others, and what are you hoping to accomplish by sending in this email?
2) If you are just having a bad day, or a difficult time, try to think what you can learn from this experience and how you can turn "a venting email" into a positive affirmation or a more positive way of looking at things?
3) If all you want to do is express your disgust or frustration with life, please take that message elsewhere. [I for one, suffer from terrible rheumatoid arthritis pain year round. But, who wants to hear me moan and groan, or whine and complain every day about how bad I might feel?! So, I go elsewhere to express this (most of the time), and instead share more positive messages in the affirmations group. As you can imagine, this has taken some self-discipline and time for me to learn this lesson. I know that I have improved and my belly-aching has lessened in the affirmations group. This is just an example.]
4) Please share positive experiences, or personal stories of victory with the affirmations group! Let us hear how affirmations are helping your thought processes, and in successfully changing your life for the better! We love to hear motivating and inspiring stories! Sometimes, a picture can be worth a thousand words!
5) If any group members forget and write a long diatribe to the group about how unfair life is, or what a crummy time one is having, ...you will be given one warning from the group moderators.
6) If a person does this a second time -- the forgetting and writing a long story or email about their life, ...the person will be put on a moderated status within the group. That means, you can write in a message to the group, but that it will be read by the moderators BEFORE it can be sent out to all the group members. This will take time, and be somewhat frustrating for the individual, as well as for the moderators.
7) Lastly, if the same behavior continues, ...the person will be asked to leave the affirmations group. Then, they will not have the benefit of positive affirmations & stories to listen to or read, and they may even lose a friendship that they may have with another group member. ***
Basically, those are the group rules, and I feel that they are fair. If they need to be revised in the future, all group members will be notified as to the changes.
Your humble owner/moderator of POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS TO DE-STRESS,
Love and hugs, PJ

Honestly,

John Ashbery

About This Poem

“It’s difficult for me to comment on the writing of a poem. It seems to be a process of discovering something and then forgetting it. ‘Experts disagree’ reminds me of Laura Riding’s book title Experts are Puzzled. Both of us, I think, are suspicious of experts, but in my case it’s a question of finding out whether we were formerly unhappy or sublime. The last line crystallizes for me the desperate hope of every poet when writing. Let’s hope ‘there’s a way to do this.’”

Freezing Ocean Waves In Nantucket Are Rolling In As Slush

It's so cold that the sea on the coast of Nantucket, an island on the eastern coast of the U.S., has turned into slush! Jonathan Nimerfroh, a photographer and surfer who's "obsessed" with the ocean, snapped these beautiful shots of slushy waves rolling in to the near-frozen beach.

According to Nimerfroh, the high temperature that day had been only 19F, or -7C. It was cold enough for ice to form near the shore, but not cold enough to form solid pieces of ice, which is why the waves had to travel through a layer of slush to reach the shore. It may look like an appetizing slurpee, but I don't suggest trying it unless you like salt, pee and plankton flavor.

Sunny Leone's Latest Hot Outing in Desert

Had a wild night? Hungry and want a break from the boring combination of oats or stale bread? Head to these places to get a morning treat you've been craving for a long time.

1. Bikers Cafe, Calcutta

You may have guessed it, the theme is motorcycles. What goes hand in hand with leather jackets and Harley Davidsons? All American platters, bacon, sausages, burgers and hash-browns.

Must try: Pink Salmon Benedict, Waffles with Bacon.

2. Mavalli Tiffin Room, Bangalore

Famous for its Rava Idlis, these were created during World War II when rice was in short supply.

Must try: Masala Dosa, Rava Idli, Bisibele Bhath

3. American Diner, Delhi

Located at the India Habitat Centre, this place can take you back to 50s and 60s America with its retro feel.

Must try: Sunrise Skillet

4. Theobroma, Mumbai

Nope, we're not suggesting brownies and upside down cakes. We're talking an English Breakfast that doesn't cut corners anywhere, complete with bacon, sausages, sunny side ups, toast, hash-browns and tossed vegetables.

Don't forget to top it off with a milkshake or coffee.

5. Monkey Bar, New Delhi

To battle the hangover from last night, Monkey Bar serves up the 'Bloody Breakfast' which is a Bloody Monkey (a special Bloody Mary made with 60 ml vodka, gin or rum) topped with skewers of bacon-wrapped sausages, mushroom, chicken and crisp potato skins. This interesting breakfast appears on the Monkey Bar menu exclusively on the weekends. There are other traditional favourites like Eggs Benedict.

Must try: Mr Miyagi's Okonomiyaki, a Japanase cabbage pancake with pork belly, chorizo, sausage, prawns and onions, capped off with barbecue sauce and tempura bits.

6. Saravana Bhavan

The hygienic and affordable food has made Saravana popular throughout. Try getting there early to avoid queuing outside.

7. Tasty Corner, Calcutta

Not for the snobs but this place serves up some delicious comfort food.

Must try: Hing kachoris, khasta kachoris, Radha Ballabi and Gobi samosa.

8. Koshy's, Bangalore

A landmark cafe in the city that has been visited by several dignitaries and public figures, Koshy's has some of the best coffee you can get in the city and a breakfast menu that's as exciting as the decor.

Must try: Cheese omelette and special coffee.

9. Suzette, Mumbai

Tucked away in the heart of Bandra, this French bakery cum bistro is a secret known to every French expat in the city. If you're early you just might make it in time for the freshly baked croissants that sell like hot cakes. If not, there are other French options like crepes that can be custom made.

Must try: Crepes - either the complete (egg, emmenthal, ham or chicken bacon) in non-vegetarian or the bleu (blue cheese, mozzarella, fresh cream, toasted walnuts) in vegetarian fare.

10. Shyam Sweet Shop, New Delhi

Craving a typically North Indian breakfast? The aloo puri at this place is to die for! The puris are light and crisp while the aloo sabzi has just the right amount of spice. Opening at 5:30 am, this is perfect for early risers.

11. Jimmy Boy, Mumbai

No need to rush, this place doesn't open till 11 am. Take your time and order the Salli per Edu, a mix of fried potato straws with eggs, Parsi style, which should be followed by Bun Maska for a taste of the creamy, Iranian style tea.

12. India Coffee House, Bangalore

The India Coffee House chain was started by the Coffee Cess Committee in 1936.The 50-year-old Indian Coffee House at M. G. Road in Bangalore closed on 5 April 2009, after the Indian Coffee Workers' Cooperative Society Limited lost a legal battle with the owner of the building to continue in the premises. It has been reopened on Church Street, less than a hundred meters away.

Must try: Masala Dosa, Omelette, cutlet, coffee.

13. Prakash, Mumbai

Looking for a hearty Maharashtrian breakfast in Aamchi Mumbai? Look no further than the piping hot and crisp Batata Vada as well as some Thalipith at Prakash.

Sunny Leone Kuch Kuch Locha Hai Trailer

These holes will literally explain to you the true meaning of the phrase 'to make a dent in the universe'. Not kidding

1. Dean's Blue Hole

Where: Long Island, Bahamas

Located in a bay near Clarence Town on the Bahamas' Long Island, Dean's Blue Hole is 650 feet deep and is the dreaded challenge of every professional deep-sea diver. Legend has it that the hole was dug by the devil that drags people in it and kills them.

2. Kennecott Copper Mine

Where: Salt Lake City, Utah

Also known as the Bingham Canyon Mine, the mine was named a National Historic Landmark in 1966. It is a huge 2.5 mile-wide pit located in the Oquirrh Mountains outside Salt Lake City, and is currently owned by the Rio Tinto Group, an international mining and exploration company headquartered in the United Kingdom.

3. Chand Baori

Where: Abhaneri, Rajasthan

Located opposite Harshat Mata temple in Rajasthan, India, Chand Baori (baori means a steepwell) extends approximately 100 ft into the ground making it one of the deepest and largest stepwells in India. It was constructed in 800 AD and consists of 3,500 narrow steps and over 13 stories. Movies like 'The Fall' and 'The Dark Knight Rises' have been shot here.

4. Kimberley Mine

Where: Kimberley, South Africa

This location was once home to more than 6,000 pounds of diamonds. Also known as the 'Big Hole' it is also the largest hand-dug excavation in the world to date.

5. Door To Hell

Where: Derweze, Turkmenistan

A massive molten cavity known as the Darvaza crater – nicknamed the 'door to hell' is a continuous burning hole located in Derweze, Turkmenistan. The crater, which is 69 metres wide and 30 metres deep has been burning for the last 40 years. George Kourounis, a Canadian explorer, became the first person known to have ventured into the pit last year. His aim was to explore the hole and to check if there were any signs of life.

6. The Kola Superdeep Borehole

Where: Pechengsky District, Russia

This hole is the result of a scientific drilling project of the Soviet Union in the Pechengsky District, on the Kola Peninsula. The project has dug the deepest artificial point on Earth, measuring a crazy 40,230 ft!

7. The Great Blue Hole

Where: Belize

This hole is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is also a popular recreational scuba diving spot. The site was made famous by Jacques Cousteau, who declared it one of the top ten scuba diving sites in the world. The Great Blue Hole is nearly 1,000 feet wide and more than 400 feet deep.

8. The Sawmill Sink

Where: Abaco Island, Bahamas

This blue hole lies in the interior of Abaco Island in the northern Bahamas. The hole is the location for the amazing find of the remains of a 2,500-year-old giant tortoise shell. The sinkhole measures 55 feet (17 meters) across and 110 feet (33.5 meters) deep.

9. Crveno Jezero

Where: Imotski, Croatia

Crveno Jezero is the third largest sinkhole in the world. The sinkhole is named after the reddish-brown color of the surrounding cliffs, coloured by iron oxides.

10. The Devil's Sinkhole

Where: Edwards County, Texas

The Devil's Sinkhole is 350 ft deep and is home to millions of Mexican free-tailed bats. It's a scary sight when millions of bats fly from the entrance to the sinkhole.

[Fropki] Crazy Photo Ops With Impeccable Timing

Crazy Photo Ops With Impeccable Timing

A camera's shutter snap (or whatever the digital equivalent is) can capture a tiny moment of time for all eternity. Motion becomes still, and the fleeting passage of time gets stopped, at least in a way. And sometimes, everything lines up so that the frozen moments turn into something truly amazing. Or bizarre. Or hilarious. However they turn out, these one-in-a-million shots are noteworthy because of how striking they are.

Ponderable

Lyn Hejinian

About This Poem

“‘Ponderable’ is an elegy from my collection titled The Unfollowing, forthcoming from Omnidawn in 2016. Noticing that it is a poem of fourteen lines, readers might speculate that it is a sonnet, but a proper sonnet is structured to facilitate logical thinking and that is precisely what is precluded when one is confronted by death: there is no coming to terms with it.”

[Fropki] 10 Freedom Fighters You Need To Know About Right Now

Feisty Hot Blouses for Bollywood Lasses

India's struggle for freedom was quite long and no matter how many names we try and recall, there are always some that are left behind. Take a look at 10 people who made significant contributions to our struggle for independence, but didn't make it to our history books.

1. V.O. Chidambaram Pillai

At a time when the Indian market had only British goods and nobody dared to trade against them, this man decided to launch India's first indigenous shipping service between Tuticorin and Colombo. He then started the Swadeshi Steam Navigation Company to compete against British goods.

2. Surya Sen

He is definitely one of India's unsung heroes. Sen was noticed for leading the 1930 Chittagong armoury raid of Bengal (now Bangladesh). He was captured, tried and hanged later, but inspired generations of revolutionaries in Bengal.

3. Potti Sreeramulu

He was an ardent follower of Mahatama Gandhi, and worked for various causes in India, especially the Dalit community. Interestingly, the people of Andhra worship him because it was his fast unto death led to the formation of a separate state for the Telugu speaking population.

4. Rani Gaidinliu

She was barely 13 years old when she led a revolt against the British rule to drive them out of Naga lands in Manipur and surrounding areas. At 16, she was arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment. In 1937, Nehru met her at Shillong Jail and pursued for her release. He also gave her the title 'Rani' after which she was popularly known as Rani Gaidinliu.

5. Alluri Sitarama Raju

Raju was a folk hero in Andhra Pradesh. He took up the cause of the tribals in the agency areas who were being harassed by the British under the Forest Act. He started an armed rebellion where he raided police stations, captured weapons and indulged in guerrilla attacks. This came to be known as the Rampa Rebellion.

6. Sardar Goutu Lachanna

He was an active participant in the Quit India movement and was named Sardar for his fearless attitude. The British government was after him for carrying out frequent raids. Lachanna also worked actively for the rights of backward classes, trade unions and other weaker sections of society.

7. N.G. Ranga

Ranga was inspired by Gandhi and joined the freedom movement in 1930. In 1933, he led the riot agitation. Additionally, in 1936, he launched the Kisan Congress Party. He was one of the founding members of the Swatantra Party that formed a strong opposition in the 1962 general elections.

8. Jhalkaribai

She was a female soldier who played an extremely important role in the 1875 Indian rebellion during the Battle of Jhansi. She was an important member of Rani Laxmibai's army and often advised her on vital decisions. The reason she deserves a mention on this list is because she disguised herself as Laxmibai in a fight with the East India Company. You will find her mentioned in various Bundeli folklores.

9. Vasudev Balwant Phadke

He was touched by the plight of farmers. With the help of various communities in Maharashtra, he formed a revolutionary group called Ramoshi. This group started an armed struggle to throw the British Raj. He was also one of the founding members of the Poona Native Institution that later came to be known as the Maharashtra Education Society.

10. Lala Lajpat Rai

He is definitely a known figure, but when compared to other freedom fighters, his name does not surface quite as often. He is largely known for his protest against the Simon Commission, which did not include a single Indian member. He was beaten brutally while protesting and died three weeks later. Additionally, he was a part of a trio called Bal Lal Pal which included Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Bipin Chandra Pal and him. They advocated the Swadeshi Movement.

While working on a shoot with some colleagues, commercial advertising photographer Tim Tadder found that water made interesting shapes when dropped onto mannequins' heads, particularly when said mannequins were bald.

Soon, Tadder found himself holding an open call for bald-headed men to come in and be photographed while having water balloons chucked at their heads. He also laid long, thin balloons over their heads and popped them with a laser. The result is a series called Water Wigs, in which water serves as a stand-in for a hairstyle. It looks surprisingly convincing—and pretty funny.
