1. Warts
Open your tool kit and try duct tape for this one! Though doctors aren't really sure about this how it works for so many, but covering your wart everyday with duct tape and pumice stone to sand away the dead skin can actually help in removing your wart permanently.
2. Hiccups
A spoon full of sugar can be a big help. A study conducted in 1971 on a group of 20 hiccuping people, were given a spoon full of granulated sugar. Surprisingly 19 out of 20 patients stopped immediately. According to the researchers sugar in the mouth somehow adjusted the nerve impulses and caused the diaphragm muscles to stop contracting irregularly.
3. Bad Breath
Most of the time people who suffer from bad breath also suffer from upset stomach. Plain curd or yogurt can help neutralise the bacterial activity and acid reflux that can cause bad breath.
4. Sore Throat
Most of the time sore throat is caused by inflammation which is your body's response to infection. Inflammation cause pain and swelling and to subside that adding salt to some warm water and gargling can actually draw excess fluid in the swollen area decreasing the pain. Repeat the process until you feel better.
5. Tension headache
All of us lead a stressful life and at times in that stress we tend to clench our teeth and when we do that we get tension headaches. The muscles that connects our jaw to our temple gets inflamed and that's when the head throbs. According to a research, placing a pencil between your teeth will relax your jaw muscles and your headache will ease eventually.
6. Nail Fungus
When a fungal infection gets under your toenail, the nail will become thickened, discolored, cracked and ugly. The best home remedy for it is to rub mentholated vapor rub (like Vicks). There are no serious studies for this treatment, but it said to work. Applying vapour rub to the nail three to four times a day for about six weeks can cure the problem. The nail will generally fall off and a healthy nail will regrow.
7. Motion sickness
You might not believe this one, but the best cure for motion sickness is olive. The tannins in the olive work to dry up saliva in the mouth, which in turn signals the stomach it does not have to throw up. So for your next long drive do keep a jar of olives handy!
