Looking Back on a Year of Poetry

Since Robert Frost encouraged our founder, Marie Bullock, to "get poetry into the high schools" in the 1960s, we've been assisting teachers in bringing poetry into the classroom—and an important part of this work is making sure teachers have access to poems. Take a look at a few of the classic and contemporary poems we added to Poets.org in 2018:

"I Invite My Parents to a Dinner Party" by Chen Chen
"The Last Word of a Bluebird" by Robert Frost
"The Last Thing" by Ada Limón
"Notebook, 1981" by Eileen Myles
"Eldorado" by Edgar Allan Poe
"Haiku [i count the morning]" by Sonia Sanchez
"Perennials" by Maggie Smith
"My Father as Cartographer" by Natasha Trethewey
"John Whirlwind's Doublebeat Songs, 1956" by Ray A.
