Dear Friend,

Once a day you press pause on the mad rush and read a poem.

You linger over its language.

You reflect on its lines, as they might reveal new truths about your life.

You imagine the experiences and histories portrayed, which are so different from your own.

Poems are a uniquely enriching and sustaining art form. And, in the past year we've been inspired to see a rapidly growing number of readers subscribing to and sharing Poem-a-Day.

Incredibly, through Poem-a-Day we now offer more than 300,000 readers 365 thoughtfully-curated poems, including 260 previously unpublished works by contemporary American poets.

I hope you might take a moment today to help support this growing program. Over the course of this National Poetry Month we are seeking to raise $25,000 to help keep the poems coming. Please donate to help us meet our goal. Every dollar counts – Abrams Books has generously agreed to match every dollar we raise, up to $10,000. That means your donation will go twice as far to help us continue to deliver this much-loved resource.

Thanks for reading Poem-a-Day. And thank you in advance for helping to continue to make it possible.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Benka
