"Frame your thoughts with awareness."
It's no secret that we have the ability to program ourselves to believe and act in negative ways. The good news is that we're also blessed with the ability to program ourselves to believe and act in positive ways.
The starting point is awareness.
You must first become familiar with how your thoughts make you feel and act. Ask yourself, what thoughts make me feel happy, sad, jealous, mad, etc.? How do I react to my feelings? Once you have the answers to these questions, consider yourself aware.
When you're in touch with your feelings you're consciously able to program yourself for positive action. Next time you catch yourself in a thought that doesn't feel good, stop, and consciously choose to react in another way. When you re-frame your thinking, everything changes.
©Jane PowellChoose Your Audience Wisely. Surround yourself with people who see you and appreciate who you really are. Make it a practice to keep the company of those who only want the very best for you. Stop wasting your time trying to convince those who don't "get" you or understand your choices in life. You need cheerleaders, not projects.
Become a Champion for Yourself. Speak kindly and positively to yourself all the time. Look in a mirror regularly and applaud your successes. (I keep a makeup mirror on my desk for this purpose thanks to Louise Hay). Literally pat yourself on the back for a job well done. Get in the habit of being your own best supporter when things don't go the way you planned. Tell yourself, "It's okay, it's okay, we're learning and growing every day!"Thanks Marcella
You can change
You have a powerful ability that can be extremely useful in just about any situation. You have the ability to change. It's something you do regularly, and you probably just take it for granted. Yet it's important to always remember that you have the ability to change.
If you feel angry, or frustrated, sad, or dismayed, though those feelings may seem to consume you, always know that you can change them. You may not want to change them just yet, and that's fine. Yet when you are ready, you can change. If you're in a difficult financial situation, you can change. If you're having serious problems in a relationship, you can change.
You can observe, you can learn, you can make decisions, and you can change. That doesn't give you an excuse to abandon your responsibilities and commitments. In fact, it gives you a way to honor and support them.
Every moment of life is a process of change. Though you may feel stuck in one place, that is certainly not the case. Countless positive possibilities are open to you. With your time, your effort and your commitment, you can bring those possibilities into reality.
Whatever life may throw at you, whatever challenges or obstacles you may face, always keep in mind that success is possible through positive, focused change.
