[Fropki] Weirdest Pizzas

1. Cheeseburger Pizza

Something different? To prepare it you only need spicy bbq sauce, multi-grain pizza, mozzarella cheese, sweet onions, and cooked hamburger.

2. Star Wars Pizza

If you're a fan of Star Wars you definitely need to prepare this pizza.

3. Chocoholics Pizza

Chocolate! perfect for a Valentine's day gift.

4. Hot Dog and French Fries Pizza

The hot dog and french fries pizza is called the Reginella Special.

5. Pizza with corn dogs

Corn dogs Pizza is one of the reasons people are getting fat. This is a creative pizza for those people with some extra pounds.

6. Pizza cone

A pizza cone is easier to eat than an ice cream cone or a regular slice of pizza since the fillings stay inside and don't melt as you eat them. You can try them at Kono "Mania" Pizza.

7. Corrupt Pizza

A waitress displays a pizza with ingredients shaped like Brazil's Senator Jose Sarney's mustache during a protest against corruption in Sao Paulo. Brazil's senate chief Jose Sarney is accused by legislators and media investigations of nepotism, embezzlement and overseeing a secret scheme of perks and pay for staffers, senators and relatives.

According to a Brazilian reader, in Brazil, when people know that a politician will not be punished at all for a crime, there is a saying that "it's going to end in pizza". So, if it is going to end in pizza, some people created a pizza resembling Senator Jose Sarney, well known for his unpunished crimes.

6. Mickey Mouse pizza

Why settle for a Mickey Pizza, when you can have the Mickey's pizza salami? Ok, this was a bit of a cheap shot, but they asked for it. Available in supermarkets for all those Mickey hungry kids!

9. Heart Pizza

Simply the most endearing pizza you can make for that February holiday we all love to celebrate.

10. Pepperoni and Caramelised Pumpkin Pizza

Scatter pizza bases with pumpkin and sliced Don Pepperoni.

11. Nutella Pizza

Why not try your favorite pizza with a bucket of the hazelnut-flavored Italian chocolate spread? The "Nutella Lux pizza" not only contains enough Nutella to keep a village of Italians in breakfast for a week, but it also has slices of strawberry and bananas. Now, as for whether all these great tastes taste great together, the answer depends on when and why you are eating the thing.

12. Pizza Cat

This pizza was made from a recipe in a book called Pizza Fun, by Judy Bastyra.

12. Nasty Morning Pizza

A mixture of everything...

[AffirmationstoDe-Stress] MORNING COFFEE

Posted: 22 May 2013 07:19 PM PDT

"Silence is sometimes the best answer."
From an early age, we've all been taught the importance of problem solving. Yet, sometimes, we can help people more by not trying to find solutions. In fact, on occasion, silent listening and empathy can be a priceless gift.
People who are grieving the loss of a loved one or a relationship, need time to mourn, not quick solutions. They need you to listen while they pour out their hearts; they want a silent hug, not instant answers.
A friend who is ranting and raving about her partner may just need to let off steam. An understanding smile and a hand on the shoulder may be the best support you can give.
Why not try a little silence today? You may find it says more than a thousand words!
©Jane Powell

Get a Life!

I suppose the best piece of advice I could give anyone is pretty simple: get a life. A real life, not the manic pursuit of the next promotion, the bigger paycheck, the larger house. Do you think you'd care so very much about those things if you developed an aneurysm one afternoon, or found a lump in your breast while in the shower?
Get a life in which you notice the smell of salt water pushing itself on a breeze over the dunes, a life in which you stop and watch how a red-tailed hawk circles over a pond and a stand of pines. Get a life in which you pay attention to the baby as she scowls with concentration when she tries to pick up a Cheerio with her thumb and first finger.
Turn off your cell phone. Turn off your regular phone, for that matter. Keep still. Be present.
Get a life in which you are not alone. Find people you love, and who love you. And remember that love is not leisure, it is work. Each time I look at my diploma, I remember that I am still a student, still learning every day to be human. Send an e-mail. Write a letter. Kiss your mom. Hug your dad.
Get a life in which you are generous. Look around at the azaleas making fuchsia star bursts in spring; look at a full moon hanging silver in a black sky on a cold night. And realize that life is glorious, and that you have no business taking it for granted.
Care so deeply about its goodness that you want to spread it around. Take the money that you would have spent on beers in a bar and give it to charity. Work in a soup kitchen. Tutor a seventh-grader.
All of us want to do well. But if we do not do good, too, then doing well will never be enough.
Life is short. Remember that, too.
I've always known this. Or almost always. I've been living with mortality for decades, since my mother died of ovarian cancer when she was forty and I was nineteen. And this is what I learned from that experience: that knowledge of our own mortality is that greatest gift God ever gives us.
It is so easy to waste our lives: our days, our hours, our minutes. It is so easy to take for granted the pale new growth on an evergreen, the sheen of the limestone on Fifth Avenue, the color of our kids' eyes, the way the melody in a symphony rises and falls and disappears and rises again. It is so easy to exist instead of live.
Anna Quindlen

Best possibilities

Some people think they can demand your attention just by being outrageous. Give your attention instead to those who offer real substance.
If you allow yourself to be offended, you're allowing someone else to dictate your thoughts and feelings. Instead of being offended, you can choose to be amused or inspired, or to simply let it go.
Give your time the respect it deserves. Use it for what truly matters, not just to feed someone else's ego, or your own.
Focus on the best possibilities, not merely on the loudest spectacles. Give your attention to life's true beauty.
You're surrounded by a universe that is endlessly fascinating and overflowing with valuable substance. You can live each moment of every day with meaningful, authentic richness.
There's no need to settle for a flimsy, superficial imitation of what matters. You deserve the real thing, so live it each and every day.
Ralph Marston

Poem-A-Day: sugar is smoking by Jason Schneiderman

Posted: 22 May 2013 03:35 AM PDT

sugar is smoking
by Jason Schneiderman

it's amazing how death
is always around the corner,
or not even so far away
as that, hiding in the little pleasures
that some of us would go
so far as to say
are the only things
keeping us alive

About This Poem

"When I wrote this, I was thinking about how a coping mechanism can outlast the trauma you have to cope with, and how any accomplishment also contains a seed of self-destruction. I recommend pairing this poem with a chilled glass of Sutter Home Moscato, followed by the Pet Shop Boys song 'Was it Worth It?' The poem is dedicated to Mark Bittman.

[Fropki] List of the Most Unusual Shoplifted Items

Posted: 21 May 2013 08:50 PM PDT

(Please let the pics open. Might take some time on a slower connection.
If you can't see the pictures, right click the small Red-Cross and choose Show Picture to view it.)

Ireland Baldwin in Sexy Denim

1. High-end vacuums

Alright, this situation is very hard to imagine, but picture a shoplifter with a vacuum under his or her shirt Very funny, right? Whether they have really big pockets or they own an invisibility cloak, the truth is this item is one of the most stolen in America. Looks like nobody wants to use the old broom anymore.

2. Pregnancy Tests

Ok, if you think this through, it's very predictable, but if you take the statistics into account, the teen mom rate is very alarming. The hypothesis is that most of these teens don't want to be discovered buying tests, so it seems like they chose otherwise. Experts say that these thefts are a cultural issue. Let's face it, nobody wants to point a finger.

3. KitchenAid mixers

How can anybody shoplift a KitchenAid mixer and can get away with it? The trick is that there are multiple in store checkouts and the items are so large that no employee thinks you have stolen it. What an excellent clue, right?

4. Weight loss pills

Besides weight loss, allergy pills are the most popular among the pharmaceutical shoplifters, and, rumor has it that these thiefs are the most extreme ones. A man in Salem, Utah, for example, recently chose to hide sleeping pills in his baby's diapers. Let's hope for her sake that there weren't any other "surprises" in there, too. Seems just like that old saying, "Desperate times call for desperate measures."

5. Lotions and creams

If you've been noticing a healthier, more youthful glow, a heavenly smell and soft, silky skin among the common criminal population these days, it's because more and more shoplifters are using their five-finger discount for the sake of vanity. Health and beauty products consistently rank among the most sought-after stolen goods. The experts tell us that shoplifters are as brand-conscious as any shop customer. "L'Oréal, because it's worth it?"

6. Electric toothbrushes & replacement heads

Shoplifters found out what dentists have long known. Dental hygiene is a lucrative business. These products are compact, reasonably costly and can be sold for near-retail prices. Electric toothbrush heads are expensive and small, making them another prime target. Also, the experts tell us that high-end dental products are a part of a much larger industry, with many shoplifters going online to resell these items at discounted prices. So, is it not true that these people are very concerned about their dental health?

7. Baby formula

As unlikely as it may seem, baby formula is a mainstay on the perennial list of most shoplifted items. On the surface the contradiction is striking -- who would associate a food meant for infants with hoodie-wearing, calculating thieves? However, shoplifters know that powdered milk is expensive. A can or bottle can last only a week or two depending on whether it's used as a premixed formula or powder alone, and how it's used. (Many mothers use formula as a supplement to breast feeding while others choose it as a baby's main source of nourishment.) Or we can just assume that there are a lot of very desperate mothers that don't want their babies to starve.

8. Razors

Razors are the bread and butter of thieves, both small- and big-time, and their theft is the bane of pharmacy and department stores. Shoplifting razors (in particular the brand-name, expensive, and ever-evolving Mach series) is also an international phenomenon. Add to this the fact that they're also quite small in size and you've got an item that's a prime target for shoplifters.

We now know that these shoplifters are very tidy looking people who do not have growing beards, so that's an excellent clue to catch them. After all who can blame them? Razors are very expensive things for being so disposable, right?

9. Designer clothing/denim

It is really hard to imagine, for an ordinary person like me, how these people have time to choose which clothing would they would steal? Well, as the statistics show they do, and choose not only good clothes, but DESIGNER denim. Sounds like a joke but believe me it's not! It is really happening!

10. Handbags

Well, a handbag is not difficult to steal, it's pretty small and, besides, it sells really well on the internet if it's made by a designer. Then it sells itself. Besides, it is really not that easy to be a shoplifter, to "make it work." Well, after all we have seen so far, it seems you've got to have excellent taste. What do you think?

[AffirmationstoDe-Stress] MORNING COFFEE

Posted: 21 May 2013 06:51 PM PDT

Save your energy for changing the things you can control."
Many everyday events are unavoidable and beyond our power to control.
Things like taxes you can complain about, but that doesn't make them go away. Traffic jams happen, especially, it seems, when you're running late. Bad haircuts are a part of life and happen to all of us.
It's better to accept with grace, as part of the journey, the things you cannot control. When tempted to control the uncontrollable, remember, the only thing you know you can always control is your response.
For example, in a traffic jam you can choose to honk your horn and scream, or you can choose to turn on the radio, listen to music, and calmly wait for traffic to clear. When you stop stewing over uncontrollable situations, you keep the vital energy you need to maintain a healthier, happier and in-balance you.

A DECISION I MUST MAKE EVERY DAY

Gretchen Alexander is sightless. But she refuses to allow her blindness to limit her life activities. She enjoys archery, golf, softball, sailing and water-skiing, as well as a number of other activities that those of us who are sighted have yet to learn.

She also speaks to groups about living life fully. When speaking to a group of high school students, she was once asked if there was anything she wouldn't try.

"I've decided to never skydive," she answered. "It would scare the heck out of my dog."

Why do some people rise above their problems and live life fully, while others become defeated? Merle Shain explains it this way: "There are only two ways to approach life, as a victim or as a gallant fighter. And every day the decision is ours." Or put another way, we can believe we're helpless or we can believe we're powerful and capable. And every day we reaffirm our belief.

Another person who knew what it was like to live sightless, not to mention soundless, was Helen Keller. She famously pointed out that "although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of suffering." Does that sound someone who believes she is helpless, or like someone who believes she is capable?

I love the perspective of a shop owner in Nottingham, England. He posted this notice in the window of his coat store: "We have been established for over 100 years and have been pleasing and displeasing customers ever since. We have made money and lost money, suffered the effects of coal nationalization, coat rationing, government control and bad payers. We have been cussed and discussed, messed about, lied to, held up, robbed and swindled. The only reason we stay in business is to see what happens next." Though he lifts up a myriad of hardships they've endured, they somehow figured out how to stay in business. Does that sound like someone who believes he is helpless... or capable?

When discouraged some people will give up, give in or give out far too early. They blame their problems on difficult situations, unreasonable people or their own inabilities.

When discouraged other people will push back that first impulse to quit, push down their initial fear, push through feelings of helplessness and push ahead. They're less likely to find something to blame and more likely to find a way through.

For me, it's an important decision about whether I want to live my life fully and with courage or whether I will be forever defeated by harsh circumstances. It's a decision about believing I am powerful enough and capable enough. And it's a decision I must make every day of my life.

Steve Goodier

Act on your dreams

Your most treasured dreams are far too valuable to be hidden away. Instead, put them into action so that they become real and vibrant contributions to your world.
Every moment will be filled with some activity or another. So fill as many of those moments as you can today with positive action.
You're always moving in some direction or another. So move steadily in the direction of those things you value and treasure most.
It can be all too easy to get caught up in the empty distractions that continually come your way. But do you really want to waste your time and energy on them when there is so much more you can be doing?
Pick the most positive, valuable, magnificent thing you can imagine and put it into action. Let it fill your thoughts and fill your moments.
When each action, no matter what it may be, is taken as a step toward what you treasure most, the power of joy and purpose will fill your efforts. Put your dreams into action, and put your own special value into life.
Ralph Marston

[Fropki] Craziest Disguises Used To Commit a Crime

Posted: 21 May 2013 09:56 AM PDT

(Please let the pics open. Might take some time on a slower connection.

Jenny McCarthy - 2013 Billboard Music Awards in Vegas

1. Disguised As Fake Nuns

Police in San Adres, a Colombian island in the Caribbean, arrested three women posing as nuns. They had $35,000 worth of cocaine underneath their habits as they entered the island at the San Adres airport. "They weren't really religious, they weren't nuns. On the contrary, they were taking advantage of this situation," San Andres police commissioner Jorge Gomez told RCN TV.

According to the police official, the drugs — 60,000 doses — had a street value of $35,470 and were probably going to be distributed locally. The suspects, ages 20, 32, and 37, were jailed and are awaiting trial.

2. Disguised As A Hill

No, this Pacific Northwest man didn't hide on a hill; he became a hill. Dressing up in a moss/grass-like ghillie suit, police say he blended in with Oregon's wilderness in order to steal a huge piece of gold from the Rice Northwest Museum of Rocks and Minerals. He apparently wanted to become one with nature.

3. Disguised With A Permanent Marker

There was little to disguise what these two had been doing moments before police pulled them over. Would-be burglars Matthew McNelly and Joey Miller's master plan had one tiny flaw --their "disguises" were comprised of masks that were drawn on their faces using a permanent marker.

American police stopped their car after a witness reported that two men "with painted faces" were trying to break into a flat in Carroll, Iowa. The caller added that the pair were wearing dark, hooded tops and had driven off in a big white car.

Police soon spotted a 1994 Buick Roadmaster matching the description and stopped it at gunpoint. They found the two men, both of whom had what appeared to be masks, beards or moustaches scrawled onto their faces. McNelly, 23, and Miller, 20, were both charged with attempted second-degree burglary and were released on bail.

4. Disguised With Duct Tape

The man, now known as the "Duct Tape Bandit," reasoned with fearsome logic that nobody can identify you if you wrap your head up in duct tape before robbing a store.

Unfortunately for the Bandit, his meticulous plan went a bit wrong when the store manager at Shamrock Liquors in Ashland, Kentucky spotted him stealing rolls of change and chased him out of the store. Ironically, he chased him with a wooden club wrapped in duct tape. The Bandit was then wrestled to the ground in the parking lot by another store employee, who held him until the police arrived. When they got there, the cops had the fun job of peeling the duct tape off the man's face.

Revealed beneath the Duct Tape Bandit's disguise was his true identity. He was not a masked supervillain, but an ordinary man with the deeply implausible name of Kasey G. Kazee, who was charged with first-degree robbery.

5. Disguised As A "Crusty Old White Man"

This costume was actually pretty clever, except for one tiny mistake: he forgot to disguise his hands.

In 2010, an unidentified Hong Kong man boarded Air Canada flight AC018, bound for Vancouver from Hong Kong, disguised in an old-man mask and carrying a boarding pass of a U.S. citizen born in 1955. Unfortunately, suspicion arose around the fact that his hands looked surprisingly young. Later during the flight, he was seen going to the bathroom and emerging as an Asian male in his early 20s. Border Service agents took him into custody when the plane landed in Vancouver.

He has since requested refugee protection and remains in a Vancouver prison.

6. Disguised As Spiderman

A man was arrested after allegedly attempting to steal a woman's purse while dressed as Spiderman. He told police that his costume was part of a cunning "disguise." Daniel James Bradley, 22, was spotted in the red and blue superhero outfit following a botched street robbery in Merced, California. According to police, the victim, a 24-year-old woman, said she had just parked her car when the suspect began staring at her and then walked towards her. Bradley, who was wearing a brown and green jacket over his Spiderman suit, allegedly said, "Give me your purse." The victim said she thought she saw him holding a gun underneath his sleeve and ran off, screaming for someone to call police. At this point, Bradley is believed to have panicked and fled the scene. He dumped the jacket and metal bar he was carrying behind a bush, and was later spotted racing down the sidewalk in the Spiderman suit.

7. Dressed As Smurfs

Fa la la la la. Four guys, dressed as Smurfs, were arrested in connection with a convenience store assault in Melbourne. Allegedly, the blue guys roughed up a 37-year-old man because he refused to light one of the Smurf's cigarettes. I know you're thinking that Smurfs are peaceful creatures, even Jokey. They would never do that! Why were these men dressed as Smurfs? That's inconclusive.

Camera footage from the convenience store (featured above) shows the Smurfs moments before the alleged assault took place.

8. Disguised As The Sun

He's not the brightest star in the Solar System. Brett Eric Drachenburg, 51, is accused of stealing a towel and then trying to disguise himself as "The Sun." Drachenburg allegedly entered a private home in Walton County, FL and proceeded to steal a towel. According to an arrest report, Drachenburg "did unlawfully deprive the owner of the use of the towel."

When deputies were investigating the incident, Drachenburg was "disguising himself as 'The Sun' with the intent to obstruct the due execution of law." The report does not specify how Drachenburg attempted to pull off such a deception.

Additionally, it is unclear whether or not the man was trying to pass as the actual sun or as a copy of a publication, such as the Sun Sentinel, which might be referred to as "The Sun." When queried about these two matters, a spokeswoman for the Walton County Sheriff's Office said, "[It looks like] 'The Sun' ... is the name he gave for himself to the deputy."

9. Disguised As The Picture From A Stolen Driver's License

Joshua K. Pinney allegedly tried to commit identity theft while sporting what may be the worst disguise ever. Cops say he was trying to impersonate the man whose picture appeared on a driver's license that he had stolen.

10. Disguised In A Gumby Costume

Apparently, Pokey's sidekick just wasn't cut out for a life of crime. A man botched an attempt to rob a Rancho Penasquitos convenience store while clad in a full-figured Gumby costume -- actually losing a bit of money instead of stealing any.

The would-be thief, disguised as the famed green claymation character, entered the 7-Eleven on the 9700 block of Carmel Mountain Road along with an ordinarily dressed cohort shortly after midnight, according to detectives.

"Gumby said, 'This is a robbery,"' Detective Hassen said, "and the clerk thought it was a joke. He said, `I have cleaning to do, and I don't have time for this."' The man in the costume -- complete with Gumby's trademark steeply slanting head and cheerful, yellow-and-red facial features -- then replied that he had a gun and began struggling with the unwieldy suit, as if trying to retrieve a concealed weapon.

Fumbling with the outfit for several moments, the bandit only managed to drop 26 cents' worth of change, which he then was unable to retrieve from the floor.

His companion, meanwhile, had wandered out of the store and gotten into a white or silver minivan, which he pulled in front of the business. After the driver honked his horn a few times, the frustrated man in the Gumby getup walked out, got into the vehicle, and the pair drove off.

The victim, still unconvinced that an actual robbery attempt had happened, did not report it. A manager who arrived for his work shift about 6 a.m., however, decided that a crime had transpired and called the police.

Poem-A-Day: Indian Stream Republic by Stephen Burt

Posted: 21 May 2013 03:34 AM PDT

Indian Stream Republic
by Stephen Burt

No one should be this alone--

none of the pines

in their prepotent verticals,

none of the unseen

hunters or blundering moose

who might stop by the empty lodge or the lake

as blue as if there had never been people

although there are people: a few

at the general store, and evidence of more

in clean vinyl siding, and down the extended street

a ruddy steel pole the height of a child, its plaque

remembering a place called Liberty

at Indian Stream, 1832-35,

between the disputed boundaries

of Canada and New Hampshire, meant

as temporary, almost

content to remain its own.

Each household, their constitution said, could possess

one cow, one hog, one gun,

books, bedding and hay, seven sheep and their wool, secure

from attachment for debt no matter the cause.

The state militia came to set them right.

The legerdemain of the noon sun through needles and leaves,

revealing almost nothing, falls across

thin shadows, thin trace of American wheels and hands

for such high soil and such short reward:

the people... do hereby mutually agree

to form themselves into a body politic

by the name of Indian Stream, and in that capacity

to exercise all the powers of a sovereign

till such time as we can ascertain to what

government we properly belong.

About This Poem

"The Indian Stream Republic was real, as well as controversial and short-lived; the poem grew out of things we really saw during a few days in August 2012 exploring Coös County, New Hampshire, best known to many poetry readers as the setting for Robert Frost's 'The Witch of Coös.' The marker and the observed details are in or near Pittsburg, New Hampshire, the northernmost town or village in New Hampshire--between Pittsburg and the Canadian border there are the four Connecticut Lakes, from First Lake to Fourth Lake, and a number of hunting lodges, but no permanent human settlements, so far as I know. The woods are lovely. Historical details, and phrases (in italics) from the Indian Stream Republic constitution, come from Daniel Doan, Indian Stream Republic: Settling a New England Frontier, 1785-1842 (University Press of New England, 1997)."

in having a destiny in keeping with our abilities.
Our desires are things of the moment,

Insights for living with joy and purpose

Dear Ferry Meed

Success consists of going from failure to failure
without loss of enthusiasm.
- Winston Churchill

Enthusiasm is not the same as just being excited.
One gets excited about going on a roller coaster.
One becomes enthusiastic about creating and building a roller coaster.
- Bo Bennett

A man can succeed at almost anything
for which he has unlimited enthusiasm.
- Charles M. Schwab

If you have zest and enthusiasm
you attract zest and enthusiasm.
Life does give back in kind.
- Norman Vincent Peale

Enthusiasm is the mother of effort,
and without it nothing great was ever achieved.

[AffirmationstoDe-Stress] MORNING COFFEE

Posted: 20 May 2013 05:42 PM PDT

"Expectations are barometers of success."
As nice as it would be, you don't just wake up one day feeling confident. Lasting confidence is earned, through successes and accomplishments.
We all place expectations on the outcome of our performance. It's important to remember that such expectations ultimately determine whether you consider yourself successful or not.
If you're consistently not meeting your expectations, redefine them. Make sure they are realistic. And, most importantly, make sure they are your own. When you meet your own realistic expectations, when you measure success by your own barometer (not someone else's), you will feel successful and your confidence will rise.
©Jane Powell

Give people you dont know a fair chance. When you look at a person, any person, remember that everyone has a story. Everyone has gone through something that has changed them, and forced them to grow. Every passing face on the street represents a story every bit as compelling and complicated as yours. We meet no ordinary people in our lives. If you give them a chance, everyone has something amazing to offer. So appreciate the possibility of new relationships as you naturally let go of old ones that no longer work. Trust your judgment. Embrace new relationships, knowing that you are entering into unfamiliar territory. Be ready to learn, be ready for a challenge, and be ready to meet someone that might just change your life forever.

Uniquely valuable day

This is a great day to be alive. This is a great day to be you.
You can delight in the beauty of every little thing. You can experience the wonderful satisfaction of knowing you're making a positive difference.
You can dream, and then enjoy working your way toward the fulfillment of that dream. You can learn and create, and love and share, and experience life's richness in your own unique way.
This is an outstanding moment, because it is a culmination of all you've ever experienced. The paths you've chosen have led you right here, and now you can do something new and meaningful with it all.
The fears and shortcomings of your past no longer have to hold you back. The genuine love that's within you has more longing and ability to be expressed than ever before.
Look around you with thankful, loving eyes, and feel what a truly great day it is to be alive. The very best of life is here now for you, so live it to the fullest on this uniquely valuable day.
Ralph Marston

[Fropki] Most Creative Furniture Inspired by Books

If you have a heavy ton of books at your disposal, like what this library has, then you may want to take all of them and turn them into a convenient book desk. Just lay them out, and then place a well-cut piece of glass on top and you have a professional-looking front-desk that's usually made of wood, but now is made of books.

This chair is constructed from stacked books to create a stable structure, then coated with what appears to be many layers of polyurethane, in the hopes of ensuring its long term stability. Designed by Richard Hutten.

Like sweetened coffee creamer, it was only a matter of time until someone fused this quintessential pair of household objects into a single hybrid furniture object. Talk about a conversation piece!

Forget the photo albums and coffee table books of old – now you can have your coffee and eat the coffee cake too, without dropping crumbs or spilling on your favorite family photographs.

Here's another chair design using books, though with some wooden structure behind for reinforcement. This chair comes with wheels too, so you can move yourself by gliding along the ground if you are too lazy to walk.

This book bed brings a whole new meaning to being a book lover. It's fantastic if you can't sleep at night!

The Bookworm is a fun piece of furniture. The Dutch design studio Atelier 010 has completed a creatively ingenious bookshelf for people who like "sinking" into the universe of reading. Instead of going to a library to feel that particularly beautiful feeling of belonging to that universe entirely articulated by books, or escaping to the countryside in search of tranquility, you can now create a smooth reading ambiance in the intimacy of your home. With a modern look ready to offer a unique experience, the Bookworm not only keeps your favorite reading items together, but it also provides a warm sitting place.

What initially appears to be a bookshelf slides apart to reveal a library table with two tone-on-tone cushioned barrel chairs on casters and hidden compartments for your coveted first editions! The extraordinary, hand-painted, lacquer-finished top is faux burled wood with an ebony trim. Whether you choose it for its sleek, space-saving design or its elegant and novel style, this wooden heirloom will garner compliments in home or office.

A chair and a book shelf, this is a chic and practical way to have your favorite books right at hand.

A bath made of books. If you like to unwind by soaking in the tub with a good book, how about bathing in literature instead with artist Vanessa Mancini's "Bath of Knowledge?" This novel idea is made almost entirely out of books, each one cut and fitted by the artist herself. The books have been layered onto a metal frame that rests on top of four antique feet shaped like lions. Encompassed in tightly crafted book slabs, this tub is both as charming and captivating as the literature it draws from.

A bookworm will probably cringe at this idea of using old books to fashion a stylish headboard. But then again, if you're someone who loves to read books, wouldn't you also love to surround your haven and sanctuary with it? Now, imagine setting your head up in an array of books splashed as a headboard. Wouldn't that be a hoot?
