Poetry Landmarks

Summer is the perfect time to make a poetry pilgrimage. Plan your route by taking a look at our poetry landmarks, from Emily Dickinson's home in Amherst, Massachusetts, all the way to Robinson Jeffers's house in Carmel, California.

Take a trip through the diverse landscape of contemporary American poetry by listening to poems by Kenneth Koch, Philip Levine, Harryette Mullen, and others who will accompany you on the road or at home.

We asked Macgregor Card, Matthew Dickman, Rita Dove, Janaka Stucky, and others to talk about their favorite poetry pilgrimages. Find out about the literary hotspots they've visited, and take off in search of your own this summer.
