If you can't see the pictures, right click the small Red-Cross and choose Show Picture to view it.)   Most Magnificent Table Designs Ever   Using long exposure photography to bring WiFi signals to life, Newcastle University student Luis Hernan, created a series of images featuring voluminous, glowing rainbowed forms, floating in mid-air. The project titled "Spirit Photographs—Wireless Spectre", is a performative and photographic exploration of Hertzian Space. The pictures result from describing the space through a performance with the Kirlian Device, which transforms signal strength in light colour (reds for high intensity, blues for low intensity). [Fropki] Drobkin Fart Posted: 02 Feb 2015 09:05 AM PST Dr. Drobkin was a world-famous cardiologist who earned his undergraduate, graduate, and medical degrees in his hometown and then left for Manhattan where he quickly rose to the top of his field.   Soon he was invited to deliver a significant paper, at a conference held in his hometown. He walked on stage, placed his papers on the lectern, but they slid off onto the floor.   As he bent over to retrieve them, at precisely the wrong instant, he inadvertently farted. The microphone amplified his mistake resoundingly through the lecture room and reverberated it down the hall! He was quite embarrassed but somehow regained his composure just enough to deliver his paper. He ignored the resounding applause and raced out the stage door, never to be seen in his hometown again.   Decades later, when his elderly mother was ill, he returned to visit her. He reserved a hotel room under the name of Cohen and arrived under cover of darkness.   The desk clerk asked him, "Is this your first visit to our city, Mr. Cohen?"   Dr. Drobkin replied, "Well, young man, no, it isn't. I grew up here, received my education here, but then moved away."   "Why haven't you visited?" asked the desk clerk.   "Actually, I did visit once, many years ago, but an embarrassing thing happened and since then I've been too ashamed to return."   The clerk consoled him, "Sir, while I don't have your life experience, one thing I have learned is that often what seems embarrassing to me isn't even remembered by others. One day he came upon a house, where he saw a bowl of the most beautiful apples. He took one in each hand and ran back into the forest.   He sniffed the apples and smelled nothing. He tried to eat them, but hurt his teeth. They were made of wood, but they were beautiful, and when the other monkeys saw them, he held onto them even tighter.   He admired his new possessions proudly as he wandered the jungle. They glistened red in the sun, and seemed perfect to him. He became so attached to them, that he didn't even notice his hunger at first.   A fruit tree reminded him, but he felt the apples in his hands. He couldn't bear to set them down to reach for the fruit. In fact, he couldn't relax, either, if he was to defend his apples. A proud, but less happy monkey continued to walk along the forest trails.   The apples became heavier, and the poor little monkey thought about leaving them behind. He was tired, hungry, and he couldn't climb trees or collect fruit with his hands full. What if he just let go?   Letting go of such valuable things seemed crazy, but what else could he do? He was so tired. Seeing the next fruit tree, and smelling it's fruit was enough. He dropped the wooden apples and reached up for his meal. He was happy again.   Like that little monkey, we sometimes carry things that seem too valuable to let go. A man carries an image of himself as "productive" - carries it like a shiny wooden apple. But in reality, his busyness leaves him tired, and hungry for a better life.   Still, letting go seems crazy. Even his worries are sacred apples - they prove he's "doing everything he can." I do not know where my house is. Where is my house? Summer steams by. Every border is cocked and ready. Flatten body against cool earth. Lie without sound. Be a cool corpse under wire teeth. The police are so young. They do not hear the wailing. Wailing, I’m told, is a figment of your imagination. What to know of the body’s refusal to open, of its hidden cave? Put the cave inside another cave so no one can reach it. Perspiration aches. Strain against dirt walls. I have come to you from a metal house. We had steel barriers to protect us from the sun. Another big purpose of the affirmations group is to become more stress-free in daily life. In the past, we have touched on ways of dealing with anxiety and insomnia in this group. As you can imagine, this has taken some self-discipline and time for me to learn this lesson. I know that I have improved and my belly-aching has lessened in the affirmations group. This is just an example.] 4) Please share positive experiences, or personal stories of victory with the affirmations group! Let us hear how affirmations are helping your thought processes, and in successfully changing your life for the better! We love to hear motivating and inspiring stories! Sometimes, a picture can be worth a thousand words! 5) If any group members forget and write a long diatribe to the group about how unfair life is, or what a crummy time one is having, ...you will be given one warning from the group moderators. 6) If a person does this a second time -- the forgetting and writing a long story or email about their life, ...the person will be put on a moderated status within the group. That means, you can write in a message to the group, but that it will be read by the moderators BEFORE it can be sent out to all the group members. Then, they will not have the benefit of positive affirmations & stories to listen to or read, and they may even lose a friendship that they may have with another group member. *** Basically, those are the group rules, and I feel that they are fair. If they need to be revised in the future, all group members will be notified as to the changes. Their Scooby couldn't be there at the ceremony, so we sent in the next best thing. Created by San Francisco artist and baker Debbie Goard.   Michelle Wibowo celebrated a triumph in the Patisserie Showpiece section of the International Culinary Olympics. She cooked up a storm with a life-size hound dog-shaped sugar sculpture, which won her gold. It took Ms. Wibowo four days and 20kg (44lb) of sugar paste to make the dog. She got the inspiration from the Elvis song You Ain't Nothing But A Hound Dog.   This pug, Sparky, hates the mailman and chews up the mail! Also by Goard.   Goard baked this cake for a Halloween-themed fundraiser and was inspired by her own dog Pepino.   Elisa Strauss of Confetti Cakes has created an amazingly life-like rendition of her father's dog, Joey, as a birthday cake for him on his 60th birthday.   This French bulldog was the centerpiece at a puppy-themed birthday party.   Another cake inspired by Pepino.   Bulldog Cake.   Yorkie Cake.   Chihuahua cake.   Wedding dogs.   Cheerleader Dog.
