Being honest will land you into more trouble than comfort and you will not stop cursing yourself. I cannot complain too much because I have been born into this generation which is 'cool' with everything, every damn thing. It's absolutely okay to be confused and not know what we want and still play around because it is simply fun. Here are 9 things why you should keep your feelings to yourself unless you are sure that he or she is not going to be reckless with your heart. 1. We're the ultimate hook up generation - slam, bam, thank you ma'am kind of.
People these days are looking to get laid more than they are looking for love. It's absolutely okay, but if you are not someone who can keep physicality and emotions separate, then you should definitely be careful. 2. Thanks to Tinder, we don't need any cupid.
Thanks to online dating that there is no dearth of options and there are just too many people to talk to; too many people to flirt with. This holds true for both girls and boys. It's a world where attention from all sides is welcome and is enjoyed. 3. Our break ups are not permanent and neither are they temporary. Isn't that absolutely cool?
Earlier, once you broke up with someone, the chapter was closed. Now, you continue to text that person, stalk them on social media and hooking up with them once in a while is just fine. My only concern here is if you will ever move on? And if you will ever let your ex-girlfriend/boyfriend move on? 4. We curse people who are emotional.
Since we are living in a very practical age, where people often leave to conquor bigger dreams leaving behind less people who actually 'feel' something. This super emotional people end up suffering the most. They are often used as emotional crunch by people who don't have emotional stability in their lives. They literally suck the happiness out of you. Hence, beware, before you open up your heart to someone. 5. "Maybe" is our new favorite word.
Things may work out, things might not. That's what everyone says to everyone these days. We would hang out with the, watch films together, hold hands, make out and still be hanging in the middle. Eventually, it will be a dead lock out of boredom. And still people continue to lead on and continue to say maybe even though they know deep down inside that it's a 'no.' 6. Because everything we do has to go up on social media
And it's a big big big big and I can go on adding that as a prefix to RISK. People find it absolutely okay to open up about each and every detail of their life on social media. Sometimes, they also misuse it by making fun of the person they have dated previously or our currently dating. Honestly, I have seen instance where people have shared screen grabs of very intimate conversations on Facebook. And no matter how cool social networking might sound, all this is just NOT COOL. 7.Your honesty will get you labeled as clingy
People tend to over react after realizing that the other person has stronger feelings or is taking things way more seriously than you are. Then you end up getting labeled as clingy, creepy or over-sensitive. It is very hard to find someone who would be on the same page as you and if you find them then don't let them go. About the ones who label you, keep them miles away! 8. We are in the generation which watches films like Friends with benefits and No Strings Attached
There is nothing wrong with the two movies, but they essentially revolve around the idea that complicated relationships are okay. Even though, in the above mentioned films, the protagonists end up falling in love with each other condemning the very idea of FWB. Still, we are willing to venture into such associations. There is nothing wrong with it, but if you are someone who gets easily attached to people or cannot keep your expectation level under control, then please keep away. 9. And at the end of the day, we are all pretentious
You never know what's on other person's mind. They might be trying to woo you for several reasons and after they are done, they will vanish in thin air. Some people tend to take advantage of the other person going gaga over them. Really. And who would mind it anyway? They will take all the love they need, the attention, and the gifts and then leave you abandoned. You'll be having sleepless nights in hope of closure.
