10 Worst Celebrity Tattoo Ideas

When we made noise in our class, our teachers always used the same lines to shut us up. It was like there was this universal teacher tongue. These 7 dialogues by Schoolfinder lists some teacher monologues that will definitely take you back to the classroom.

1. "Your body is here, but your mind is somewhere else."

2. "Talk loudly, you didn't have breakfast or what?"

3. "This is not a fish market."

4. "I want pin drop silence."

5. "Ssh...the principal is taking a round of the school."

6. "There will be a surprise test tomorrow."

7. "I will throw you out of the window."

Dear Poet Letters

We received over 1,500 letters from across the country, and around the world, in response to Dear Poet, our National Poetry Month education project that invited young people to respond to poems written and read by some of the award-winning poets who serve on our Board of Chancellors. Take a look at what these young people were most curious about, and how our Chancellors responded.

[Fropki] 12 Simple Tricks To Keep Yourself Motivated

Posted: 21 May 2015 09:53 AM PDT

(Please let the pics open. Might take some time on a slower connection.
If you can't see the pictures, right click the small Red-Cross and choose Show Picture to view it.)

10 beer brands Americans are proud to drink

Are you bored with your life? Are you uninspired to update your blog? Are you lazy to shoot your short film? Let's put that aside now because we're bringing you 12 simple tricks that will help you get back on track right away.

1. Start now.

Tell yourself to start this moment. Not in the evening and not tomorrow, right NOW.

2. Set a performance goal.

Setting a goal helps you find your way forward. This comes in handy for various things, such as, if you have a bunch of emails to reply to, or laundry to do, or bills to pay. Setting a goal will help you tackle all of this.

3. Make an if-then rule.

The if-then rule is very simple. Suppose you finish a task that had been pending a while, treat yourself. For minor tasks, you can get yourself chocolates or a nice meal. For bigger tasks, you can treat yourself with a vacation.

4. Don't think about survival.

Everyone learns to survive sooner or later. Sadly, we are so worried about making enough money, or doing things the right away, that we forget to look at the more important things. Instead of survival, we should motivate ourselves to become the best version of ourselves, the best of everything. We should aim at setting an example and nothing less than that.

5. Rise above your insecurities.

Instead of feeling jealous about other people's successes, try and figure out the reason behind it. There must be a story. They would have developed great habits, worked hard and made certain compromises to get where they have.

6. Get a routine.

Believe it or not, this habit makes a huge difference. A routine can help you get your life on track. It will keep you going. When you finally have a routine to follow, focus on it and try to get better at it every day.

7. Embrace discipline.

There are times when you'll realise that motivation isn't the problem. Instead, being non-disciplined is.

Has it ever happened with you that you are constantly inspired to work towards your goal, but you can't make time for it? This is where discipline comes in the picture.

8. Keep realistic expectations from yourself.

Don't add too many things on your to-do list. DON'T give yourself improbable deadlines.

9. Stay away from toxic people.

Stay away from people who make you feel terrible about yourself. Keep miles away from that girl who cribs all the time. And stop talking to that fellow who can never utter a nice word about you.

10. Understand the value of that 'extra' bit.

It is possible that you have both talent and resources. You are working hard, but you're falling short because you are failing to take that extra step. Think about it. Maybe you are just that tiny step away.

11. Ask yourself - ' Do I want it bad enough?'

The answer to this question will tell you how far you are willing to go to fulfil your dreams.

12. Stick notes.

You need to be constantly inspired. So stick inspiring notes on your office table, or put motivational wallpapers on your laptop. Every time you feel bored, just look at it. It sounds silly but these things actually help.

Doors opening, closing on us

Marge Piercy

About This Poem

“The poem actually started when I was thinking about the use of gates in the Yom Kippur service. I was thinking that doors are more concrete somehow as an image of going from one state or another, one era, one phase of one’s life to another—because you can’t see beyond a door when it’s shut. There can always be a surprise on the other side.”
Marge Piercy

Marge Piercy is the author of Made in Detroit (Knopf, 2015). She lives on Cape Cod, Massachusetts with her husband, Ira Wood.

[Fropki] Something Very Disturbing in Old Set Of Slides

A shot of some creepy-looking mannequins.

More mannequins?

Seriously, what's going on with all of these mannequins?

This creepy guy has a starring role in the rest of the presentation.

GOAT322 believes that this man might be Alexander Lowen. Lowen was a doctor and psychotherapist who founded the International Institute for Bioenergetic Analysis in New York City.

An interesting graph.

The rest of the slides feature Lowen working with his followers.

Commenters believe that what's happening here is some sort of therapeutic practice to release emotional traumas.

If that's true, then it would be very similar the process in Scientology of "going clear."

I don't understand all of the choking though...

Where did the tennis racket come from?

Why is everyone in their underwear?

GOAT322 says that, in total, there are 200 slides in this presentation.

It certainly looks like she is working through her demons.

At least there are hugs at the end of everything.

Whatever your opinion is on these slides, it's clear that the people here are experiencing something very real. Here's to hoping that they benefitted from what this organization was doing...even if it looks very strange.

[Fropki] 11 Alternatives To Our Favourite Maggi Noodles

Posted: 20 May 2015 08:38 PM PDT

Peanut Butter and Banana French Toast

That our beloved Maggi could face a ban due to excessive amounts of monosodium glutamate (MSG), we have to substitute our favourite snack with other alternatives. Not that they taste like Maggi, but you can try making the following recipes instead of the 2-minute snack.

1. Bhurji

All you need is some fluffy pav or bread and you're all set to kill the hunger.

2. Chana Masala

Boil chickpeas, preferably black chickpeas and add some onions, chaat masala, tomatoes and chilli. Chana masala is a very healthy alternative to fast food.

3. Khichdi

Moong dal khichdi, made in ghee, is a healthy, comfort food. It will take more time than Maggi, but it will definitely satiate your hunger.

4. Macaroni

Mac and cheese, the American comfort food can also be another alternative to our beloved Maggi!

5. Oats Chilla

A chilla is a good way to introduce oats in your diet. All you have to do is replace the besan batter with crushed oats and you're done.

6. Omlette

Nothing like a good old omelette to keep hunger at bay.

7. Dahi Vada

Vadas in cool, sweet curd is a perfect snack for your night cravings.

8. Soup

And by that, we don't mean the ready-to-eat soup. Take out time to make a healthy bowl of soup with veggies and chicken.

9. Bhel

Stock some puffed rice in the kitchen. Whip up a quick bhel by putting peanuts, sev, onions and masala when hungry!

10. Chinese Bhel

Freshly-fried noodles tossed in with shredded vegetables and soya sauce can be your next midnight snack.

11. Chapati Noodles

What do you do with some leftover chapatis? You make chapati noodles. Make thin strips of leftover chapatis and fry them in the mixture of onion, tomato, carrot, green chilli, oil and soy sauce.

10 beer brands Americans are proud to drink

Mountain passes have always played an important role in trade, travel, migration and war in the Himalayan region. Today, they connect various regions that are divided by mountain ranges. And getting to them requires driving or trekking on some of the most hazardous terrain. Take a look.

1. Chansal Pass

The Chansal Pass connects Dodra Kwar and Rohru in Himachal Pradesh. It is about a 5-hour drive from Shimla.

2. Dungri La Pass

One can get to Dungri La on a motorable road at a high elevation of 5608 metres. It connects India to Tibet through the Zanskar mountain range and is located in the Nanda Devi National Park. Not very far away is the pilgrimage site of Kedarnath.

3. Rohtang Pass

Located in the Pir Panjal range, the Rohtang pass connects the Kullu Valley with the Lahaul and Spiti Valleys at a height of 3978 metres. It is accessible on the Manali-Leh highway, the best time to visit being between May-November. In winter, there are risks of avalanches and road closures.

4. Khardung La Pass

Located near Leh, it connects the Shyok and Nubra Valleys at an elevation of 5602 metres. It is a popular route for bikers as the pass is motorable.

5. Sela Pass

Perched at an elevation of 4170 metres, the Sela Pass is situated in the Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh. Currently Tawang is being claimed by China as 'South Tibet' but the Sela Pass connects the district to the rest of the country through Assam. It remains open through out the year except at times of heavy snowfall.

6. Borasu Pass

The Borasu Pass connects the Himalayan regions of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh at a close proximity to the Indo-China border. It was once used as a trade route between the Doon Valley and the Kinnaur Valley at an elevation of 5450 metres.

7. Jelep La

The Jelep La, at an elevation of 4270 metres, connects Sikkim to the Tibetan Plateau and onwards to Lhasa. The drive is absolutely scenic with rhododendrons along the side of the highway into the Chumbi Valley across the Chinese border.

8. Chang La Pass

At an altitude of 5360 metres, the Chang La connects the Indus Valley to the Pangong Lake region of Ladakh. It is the third highest motorable road in the world.

9. Nathu La Pass

The Nathu La Pass connects Sikkim to Tibet, and is one of the three major open borders between India and China, the other two being Shipkila in Himachal Pradesh and Lipulekh in Uttarakhand. On the Indian side, the pass is 54 km east of Gangtok.

10. Debsa Pass

The Debsa Pass connects the Kullu Valley to the Spiti Valley of Himachal Pradesh.

11. Rupin Pass

The Rupin pass is situated across the Rupin river and connects Dhaula in Uttarakhand to Sangla in Himachal Pradesh. There are different trails that access the Rupin Pass. One of them starts at the sleepy village of Gosangu, which is the last road ahead of Himachal Pradesh. Generally, trekkers and adventurers travel to Gosangu by road from Shimla via Rohru. The alternate route to Rupin Pass starts from Naitwar, which is accessible from Dehradhun via Dhaula. The uninhabited Rupin pass is located at an elevation of 4650 metres.

12. Lipulekh Pass

The Lipulekh pass in the Himlayan frontier connects the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand to Purang in Tibet at an altitude of 5334 metres. It is used by pilgrims of the Kailash Manosarovar Yatra who are on their way to Mansarovar Lake and the Kailash mountains.

13. Karakoram Pass

The Karakoram Pass is a trisection of the Indian, Chinese and Pakistani borders. At an elevation of 4693 metres, it is the oldest route between Leh and Yarkant. The Siachen Glacier is situated in the eastern Karakoram range and west of the pass are the great Himalaya Mountains.

CHAK DE

======

======

======

======

======

======

Dedicated to all the Lovely Women & Responsible Men:

"They say You should Never Ask
a Woman her Age &
a Man his Salary..."

The real reason is that...
Most Women Themselves do not Know,
How Many of Her Years She has Actually Lived for Herself... 💐👰

& Most Men do not Know,
How Much of His Income He has Actually Earned for Himself..!!! 👨👍

Respect Each Other.. Respect Life!!💕

======

======

Elegy with Apples, Pomegranates, Bees, Butterflies, Thorn Bushes, Oak, Pine, Warblers, Crows, Ants, and Worms

Hayan Charara

About This Poem

“I began the poem with fruit in mind, apples specifically, and not my mother, and definitely not as an elegy, but that I went there is no surprise. I’m almost the same age my mother was when she died, a fact I let hover over me. Be that as it may, for a long time now I’ve felt that all my poems, ultimately, are elegies, even when—especially when—they are bursting with life.”
Hayan Charara

Hayan Charara’s new collection of poems Something Sinister will be published by Carnegie Mellon University Press in 2016. He is the editor of Inclined to Speak: An Anthology of Contemporary Arab American Poetry (University of Arkansas Press, 2008) and teaches in the Honors College at the University of Houston.
