Just About Every Year, This Happens In China

 

Due to a steady flow of tsunamis and a lack of forestation in the area, southwestern China gets hit by massive floods almost annually. Based on these pictures, it doesn't seem like their government does much to prevent these sorts of things from happening or help with cleanup when they do. As someone who hates getting even a little bit wet, this all seems like my worst nightmare.

 

Those aren't barges. Those are roofs.

I hope this bus comes with an anchor.

It gets so muddy that sometimes the animals can't even stand.

This would be an awesome water park, but it's actually just this dude's commute.

This city essentially just turned into soup.

But that doesn't mean you can't have fun!

I feel like these people should be a little more alarmed right now.

The floods make doing chores ten times harder.

Yeah, that car belongs to Davey Jones now.

Who knows what terrible creatures tread these salty seas.

I bet this guy has a speedo specifically for flood season.

Come on in, the water's...brown.

They really should just buy speedboats at this point.

Next stop: waves.

At first I thought this was just a normal river, but then I saw the top of the lamp post.

Not sure what's slower, the current or the traffic.

Seahorses.

The weirdest thing about these pictures is that the people in them seem pretty content with the floods. Maybe that's an indication of how often this sort of thing happens. Next time you're in China for vacation, consider renting an inner tube.
