Bipasha Basu's Bikini Vacation Pics Leaked

If you think Bollywood is only about running around the trees dancing, over-the-top acting and heavy duty dialogues like 'main tumhare bachche ki maa banne wali hoon', you're in for a pleasant surprise. To break away from the typical masala potboilers Bollywood is famous for, here's a list of some good coming of age cinema that you will definitely relate to.

1. Wake Up Sid (2009)

As aimless and confused any other 20-something, Sid Mehra decides to move and figure out life on his own. His beautifully nuanced transformation from a careless, rich brat to a responsible man will definitely inspire you.

2. Udaan (2010)

Expelled from school for watching porn, teenager Rohan moves back with his abusive father and Arjun, a step-brother he never knew existed! How he stands up to his father and saves his brother's childhood is what the film is about.

3. Rock On!! (2008)

It's been ten years since they performed together. A band of musicians reunite as the four best friends keep aside their personal differences and rekindle their long lost friendships.

4. Lakshya (2004)

A kid in an adult's body, the irresponsible, confused and aimless Karan Shergill finds his calling in life when he joins the Indian army and proves to be a hero on the battlefield.

5. Dil Dosti Etc (2007)

Rebellion, ethics and morals – this films deals with it all, in a not so apologetic way. The film doesn't play safe like others on this list, it shows things the way they are. Everybody in their twenties will be able to relate with this film. And that is precisely why it is a must watch.

6. Gippi (2013)

This one may not have been as successful as most others on the list, but this film that tackled a subject as serious as fat shaming in a delightful manner is definitely worth a watch for all school students!

7. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013)

The dilemma of wanting stability or excitement, the dilemma of wandering or settling down, the dilemma of chasing dreams or happiness – 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' talks about making that difficult choice.

8. Rockford (1999)

The chronicles of a young boy in a new school, his tryst with first love, crushes, friendships, fights and bullying – the film will definitely make you nostalgic.

9. Finding Fanny (2014)

Five people set out on a road trip together searching for something. What is it? 'Finding Fanny' is a beautiful journey of people setting out in search of that one reason to live!

10. Highway (2014)

A girl gets kidnapped and it's not like you think it is. In bondage, she finds freedom. This is the most unusual coming of age story you"ll ever watch.

11. Dil Chahta Hai (2001)

This ultimate story about inseparable friendship will make you realise how important friends are.

12. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011)

Three best friends set out on a vacation across Europe. The trip teaches them all they ever needed to know about love and life. This film is cinematically so brilliant, you'd want to plan a trip with your best friends immediately after watching it.

13. Queen (2014)

A protected Delhi girl decides to go on her honeymoon alone, after her fiancé calls the wedding off and meets herself somewhere down the journey. This is the closest Bollywood can get to the coming of age genre.
