Dear Poem-a-Day Subscriber,

As one of our regular readers, you know well how a daily dose of poetry can enrich our lives. In the midst of texts and tweets and our busy lives, poems ask us to slow down, reflect, and feel.

Sharon Olds, the Pulitzer Prize-winning poet, shared recently, “I go to poems because I need help in my life. I need to learn how to live.”

In this season of giving we need your help to support Poem-a-Day and all of our free programs that give depth and meaning to our lives.

Through Poem-a-Day, we distribute poems to more than 350,000 hungry readers every morning. Last month, the series was noted by the New York Times for helping to “take verse viral.”

We are growing the audience for poetry, but we can’t do this work without you. This month we need to raise at least $25,000 to support our programs. Please take a moment today to make a special contribution.

Thank you in advance for joining in our efforts to promote poetry.

                                         In gratitude,

P.S.      For donors recognizing the daily value of poetry with a special gift of $365, we are sending a bundle of thank-you gifts, including an audio CD featuring the 2015 Chancellors Reading, which was an incredible evening of poetry from fifteen of the nation’s foremost poetic voices.
