Katrina Mesmerizingly Hot in High Slit Dress

For those who are completely illiterate about horses, they, like dogs, are born as different breeds. Not all of them look like the macho stallions we see in the movies. Wikipedia lists over 320 different kinds of horses, each very distinctive in its own way, and each used for very specific purposes by man. 

The Marwari or Malani is a rare breed hailing from the Marwar or Jodhpur region of the country. Distinctively known for their ambling gait, ear tips turning inwards and the amazing ability to withstand desert heat, the Marwari horses were war horses, historically known for their valour, loyalty and bravery in battles. 

But why were they famous?

The Rajputs were the reason behind Marwari's fame. They would very cleverly get fake elephant trunks put on Marwari war horses. Appearing as baby elephants, the elephants carrying the enemies would instinctively not attack them, giving the Rajputs an advantage of attacking first. 


The horses would then rise on their hind legs, placing their front legs on the elephant's head. This would give the rider a chance to attack the mahout with a spear or a sword. A fight tactic that would end up paying high dividends. 

The Battle of Haldighati

It was the Battle of Haldighati in 1576 when the iconic horse Chetak saved the life of his master, Maharana Pratap, the last of the Rajputs, battling the Mughals, who were led by Man Singh, another Rajput chieftain.

The painting shows Chetak wearing the false elephant trunk with his hooves on the head of the main enemy elephant, allowing Maharana Pratap to throw a lance at Akbar's general. The general was quick with his reflexes, so he ducked. The mahout wasn't, and the lance killed him instantly. 

Panicking in the situation, the elephant swung about, chopping off one of Chetak's legs with the sword that was attached to his trunk. Even with a leg chopped off, Chetak managed to carry Maharana Pratap safely to his brother, Shakti Singh's horse, on which he escaped. Even though the Rajputs were defeated, the battle is held in high regard, thanks to the incredible showcase of bravery and loyalty shown by the Marwari war horses.

The Marwari breed was so integral in a Rajput's life that people would often say that a Rajput could never be separated from his horse, come what may.   

But their reign didn't last long

The reign of the Marwari breed didn't last too long. As the British colonised the country, they brought their own horses with them. Disliked by the English, the Marwaris eventually lost out to imported Australian breeds. It only got worse for the horses when the British eventually left in 1947. People couldn't afford to keep them anymore. Many were castrated, abandoned, and some were even shot dead.

Although things have gotten better over the years for the Marwari breed thanks to the rise of tourism, it's nowhere close to the life they once enjoyed. Alas, that life of glory has become another tourist attraction in a trekking safari.

You get sick, see your doctor, get some medicine take rest and get well soon. This is often the wisest way to go! But there are times when just a 'home remedy' can work wonders. Here's a list of 7 home remedies for some common conditions that actually work.

1. Warts

Open your tool kit and try duct tape for this one! Though doctors aren't really sure about this  how it works for so many, but covering your wart everyday with duct tape and pumice stone to sand away the dead skin can actually help in removing your wart permanently.

2. Hiccups

A spoon full of sugar can be a big help. A study conducted in 1971 on a group of 20 hiccuping people, were given a spoon full of granulated sugar. Surprisingly 19 out of 20 patients stopped immediately. According to the researchers sugar in the mouth somehow adjusted the nerve impulses and caused the diaphragm muscles to stop contracting irregularly.

3. Bad Breath

Most of the time people who suffer from bad breath also suffer from upset stomach. Plain curd or yogurt can help neutralise the bacterial activity and acid reflux that can cause bad breath. 

4. Sore Throat

Most of the time sore throat is caused by inflammation which is your body's response to infection. Inflammation cause pain and swelling and to subside that adding salt to some warm water and gargling can actually draw excess fluid in the swollen area decreasing the pain. Repeat the process until you feel better.

5. Tension headache

All of us lead a stressful life and at times in that stress we tend to clench our teeth and when we do that we get tension headaches. The muscles that connects our jaw to our temple gets inflamed and that's when the head throbs. According to a research, placing a pencil between your teeth will relax your jaw muscles and your headache will ease eventually.

6. Nail Fungus

When a fungal infection gets under your toenail, the nail will become thickened, discolored, cracked and ugly. The best home remedy for it is to rub mentholated vapor rub (like Vicks). There are no serious studies for this treatment, but it said to work. Applying vapour rub to the nail three to four times a day for about six weeks can cure the problem. The nail will generally fall off and a healthy nail will regrow.

7. Motion sickness

You might not believe this one, but the best cure for motion sickness is olive. The tannins in the olive work to dry up saliva in the mouth, which in turn signals the stomach it does not have to throw up. So for your next long drive do keep a jar of olives handy!

Before the movers came,
we found the sparrows’ nest

 

concealed inside the chive
plant on the patio.

 

And the bald chicks there
calling, unfledged, undone. 

 

Love, the mean days collecting
scored us, and hourly

 

such years: we feel too much

 

assembling what our world
got wrong; black artery 

 

of wires, branched hazard, rat
stinking in the beams. Wrong as

 

your mattress on the floor,
walls where the only stud

 

sinks into a metal grief.

 

Take this distance as you go,
Love, which is my faith, tedious,

 

steady, like scraping gum
from a shoe. Strong as a cobweb,

 

I give you this durable string.

 

Because I remember you:
who saves the sparrows;

 

the chicks calling and calling
and you who won’t forget them;

 

have seen the ghost who rents
your eyes dissolve when

 

your face turns to the light.

 

Today, I watched the other birds
who lived this winter

 

peppering our tulip tree. The buds’
tough seams begin to crack.

 

Ordinary. No sign to read, I know.
But while we breathe, we hope.

I’m in a carousel.
The kind that spins
people to the wall.
There is a woman
and a man and a man
inside of it too,
and a man operating it.
Everybody I love is
looking down at me,
laughing. When I die,
I’ll die alone.
I know that much,
held down by my
own shadow, wanting
to touch the woman,
the man, the man,
across the curvature.
I won’t be able to even
look. I’m on a train.
I’m a tiny spider.
A tiny star.
Or a giant spider.
When everything stops,
I’ll open the only door
to the carousel and
it’ll be the wrong one
I’ve forgotten entering.

I’ve only watched the film once, years ago, but I think about that scene sometimes when I wake up or fall asleep. How the force pulls and pushes at you in a carousel. I remember a couple kissing next to him. Yeah, the kids were definitely laughing. That’s what I remember anyway.”

Airplane lavatories aren't the best, we admit. Even though they are much cleaner and smell better than the washrooms on a train, they are still pretty cramped and the lack of windows only makes you feel more suffocated. And things, more often than not, go down south if the person before you makes a stinky mess. 

But have you ever wondered what happens to all the poo? Where is it all going? Who's cleaning it all up?

Old airline toilets would use large quantities of blue sanitation fluid, but the systems would generally leak, forming a rather big ball of blue ice and frozen feces *insert vomit emoticon*. So they had to think of a better alternative.

Nowadays, everything remains on-board, all thanks to a pretty complex process.

The keywords now are Teflon and Suction! Not in that particular order, though.

When we flush, a valve opens up inside which sucks up everything in the toilet bowl. It is then coated with Teflon, the material non-stick pans are made of. The waste is then moved through pipes and stored in a tank located under the aircraft.  

On landing, all the waste is transferred to a honey truck (fancy that for a name of a truck that's carrying poo) via a powerful hose

This is basically a sewage vehicle. Once all the poo is sucked out, the tanks are sanitised. The honey truck then takes the waste to its right place - the sewer. Being the operator of a honey truck might not be the dream job, but it's an important one nonetheless.

We have been receiving many complaints from our members about the mails going into the SPAM folder.

To prevent this problem:

You need to add the address : fropki@yahoogroups.com in your address book.


REGARDING SPAM:
All Members are requested to report any ABUSE or SPAM by other members of the Group. Any member who is found guilty of any such violations will be BANNED from the Group immediately and will be Reported to Yahoo! for further action. Members may report the issue by Forwarding us the mail at admin@fropky.com and make sure that you copy and paste the Full Header of the mail along with the reported mail.
