[Fropki] This New Phone Cover Designed By Edward Snowden Will Notify You If You're Being Tracked

Hacktivism hero Edward Snowden is shifting careers it seems. While staying true to his ultimate dream of online transparency across the world, Snowden has stepped into the world of product design as he unveiled a phone case that can detect when the device's radio is transmitting.

The case has wires which connect itself to the interior of the iPhone using the SIM card slot to monitor electrical signals sent to its internal antennas. He presented the concept and the design at the MIT Media Lab's Forbidden Research event with hacker Andrew "Bunnie" Huang. The case is still at the concept stage and is designed especially for journalists who want to conceal their location. But more importantly, Snowden believes it will come in handy exposing the hidden surveillance that the government carries out on smartphones.

"Because of the precedent set by the U.S.'s 'third-party doctrine,' which holds that metadata on such signals enjoys no meaningful legal protection, governments and powerful political institutions are gaining access to comprehensive records of phone emissions unwittingly broadcast by device owners. This leaves journalists, activists, and rights workers in a position of vulnerability," they said at the event.

The duo apparently went to the electronic market in Shenzhen, China to collect spare parts and blueprints of the iPhone 6 which were used to engineer the device. An advanced version of the design might include the option to obscure the camera physically. "Our approach is: state-level adversaries are powerful, assume the phone is compromised," told Huang to Wired. "Let's look at hardware-related signals that are extremely difficult to fake. We want to give a you-bet-your-life assurance that the phone actually has its radios off when it says it does." The case might just be a life saver for the journalists in war-torn areas like Iraq and Syria.

What do you feel about the case?

[Fropki] Amul's Tribute To Rajinikanth's 'Kabali' Will Really Make You Bow Down To The Thalaivar!

There are no two ways about the fact that Kabali fever has gripped the entire nation. In fact Rajinikanth's latest gangster drama has even made its presence felt internationally. And for quite sometime now, there have been reports  about how the movie's frenzy is driving Rajinikanth fans crazy! From declaring a holiday on the film's release day, to buying tickets at five times the price, there seems to be no end to the Kabali frenzy.

And now, in true tradition, Amul also released their latest sketch inspired by the movie. It really seems to be the baap of all Rajinikanth jokes, and it'll make your guts hurt with laughter! Check it out.

But this is not the first time that Amul's cartoon inspired from movies has been spot on. Lately they have been releasing some amazing sketches inspired by films and they'll really make you wonder how they always seem to get it right!

They did one on the Hrithik-Kangana infamous spat!

Remember when Aishwarya Rai's purple lips at Cannes broke the internet?

They did another one on Tanmay Bhat's Snapchat controversy too!

[Fropki] 10 New Features Of WhatsApp You Can't Get Enough Of

Posted: 23 Jul 2016 08:29 AM PDT

(Please let the pics open. Might take some time on a slower connection.
If you can't see the pictures, right click the small Red-Cross and choose Show Picture to view it.)

Lisa Haydon Lifts Skirt to Show Bare Thighs

In the past few years, WhatsApp has emerged as almost the de facto mode of communication in several countries around the globe.

The regular updates that the app gets too go a long way in helping its user base grow. The world's most popular instant messaging app has received a slew of new features in the past few months and is set to get many more in the near future.

Here are 10 such new as well as upcoming features of WhatsApp.

1. Call Back

Often miss the 'call back' feature when making WhatsApp calls? WhatsApp has finally heard you. With v2.16.189, users get the 'call back' option in the app. The feature appears on the app screen after a call is declined.

So far, 'call back' the feature is available only in WhatsApp's Android app. Also, it has not been rolled out via Google Play store, but is available in the app's latest beta version. Those interested can manually download and install the app's apk file from APKMirror website.

2. Voice Mail

Another Android-only feature for now, voice mail will allow users to record messages by long pressing the 'mic' icon near the chat box. Just like the 'call back' feature, it's not available through the Google Play store, but is available in the latest beta version.

For those who can't wait to test voice mail functionality, the apk can be had from APKMirror website.

3. Quotes

Often feel that you could quote a specific conversation in those long-threaded messages? It's possible, thanks to a functionality WhatsApp added recently. The popular messaging app rolled out an update which brings message quote feature.

The update enables users to quote somebody's message(s) at the time of replying. Users just need to select a message which they want to reply to, following which a reply button comes up.

Then they need to tap the button, type in the reply and simply hit Send. Once this is done, the message is sent and the reply appears in quotes. The feature works in both one-on-one as well as group chats. Along with this, users can also preview the quoted message inside a box.

4. New Fonts

Bored of chatting on WhatsApp with the same default system font? The company has silently rolled out a new feature to WhatsApp's Android app, which allows users to type in a new font.

The font appears similar to the Fixedsys typeface in Windows. However, so far this is the only option available. Also, while the new font is a welcome move from WhatsApp, using it can be difficult and even tiresome.

This is because users have to put backquote symbol (`) three times before and after the text they want to change the font of.

5. End-to-end Encryption

WhatsApp has added end-to-end encryption to all its messages. Encryption ensures that only a message's sender and recipient can read messages, stopping communications from being intercepted in the path. And yes, just like messages, WhatsApp calls too are encrypted end-to-end.

This means that WhatsApp and third parties can't listen to them.

6. Music-Sharing

According to multiple reports, WhatsApp is set to add music-sharing feature to its app. The feature will allow users to share music stored on their devices as well as from Apple Music service.

The feature is expected to arrive on iOS devices first.

7. Mention And Group Invites

Another upcoming feature in WhatsApp is mentions. It will come in handy during group conversations, and works in a similar way as mentions work on Facebook. It will reportedly show the name in a different coloured text. The feature is aimed to help users grab the attention of a specific user in group conversations.

The group invite feature will help users send a link to other people to join a group by just tapping on it.

8. Gif Support

WhatsApp is expected to add GIF support to its iOS app soon.  The feature has reportedly been spotted in iOS beta version 2.16.7.1. Other instant messengers like WeChat, Line already support the same.

9. Big Emoji

The app is also speculated to soon feature support for bigger emoji. This feature too is based on Apple's announcement regarding support for the same in the upcoming iOS 10.

10. Video Calling

Video calling was spotted in WhatsApp beta for Android users in May, but dissappeared in later updates. However, it is quite certain that the company will be introducing it in the near future. The feature appeared in WhatsApp beta for Android update (v2.16.80) via the Google Play beta testing program.

Rumours about the rollout of WhatsApp video calling feature have been there for quite a long time.

[Fropki] 7 Obvious Signs That It's Time To Schedule An Appointment And Get Your Thyroid Checked

Posted: 22 Jul 2016 11:00 PM PDT

Prepare to get your booty kicked - Minakshi Mahta Perfect Butt

Thyroid disorders and complications are more common than you realise, affecting millions of people every year. It's also a very common hereditary issue, passed down from generation to generation.

1. Fluctuating weight

Thyroid controls your metabolism, so if there's a problem with your thyroid, it's obviously going to affect your weight. People with hyperactive thyroid tend to lose weight and people with hypoactive thyroids experience weight gain. But there are many bodily factors that influence weight; thyroid is just one of them.

2. Hair loss

Hair thinning or hair loss is the other major sign that you might be suffering from thyroid problems. A hyperactive and even hypoactive thyroid can affect your hair growth or loss. The common phenomenon is that the thinning of hair is quite uniform in most cases but can be different for everyone.

3. Fluctuation in energy levels

If you feel lethargic and drained out quite often it certainly not a good sign. It seriously doesn't matter how much you sleep or take rest, blame it on your hypoactive thyroid. In this condition staying active can be a serious struggle and even normal everyday task seem too much. But if you have hyperactive thyroid then you can be a little hyper, jittery and even fidgety.

4. Change in appetite

If you've got an under-active thyroid, your energy levels can drop considerably, so you need to consume fewer calories to function. Your appetite goes down and you might eat less. Paradoxically, since your body is converting fewer calories into energy, you can actually gain weight. At the opposite end of the spectrum, a hyperactive thyroid can increase your metabolism, leading to abrupt weight loss.

5. Menstrual Problems

Irregular periods can also be the sign that you are suffering from thyroid. If you notice your periods are very long or short, heavy or light or extremely irregular then it's time for you to consult your doctor or get your thyroid checked.

6. Feeling too hot or too cold

If your body is producing too much thyroid hormone, your temperature can rise, leaving you feeling frequently warm. Similarly, an under-active thyroid can make you feel colder. It can often take just a small change in the hormones produced to have a major impact.

7. Muscle aches and pains

If you often feel muscle weakness, tenderness, stiffness and swelling quite often, it can be the sign of Hypothyroidism. It is advisable to immediately contact your doctor in such condition and start the medication as soon as possible.

[Fropki] 10 Ways You Can Give Back To Society While Travelling

Posted: 22 Jul 2016 09:35 PM PDT

Doutzen Kroes struggles to maintain her modesty in slinky gown

"No one has ever become poor by giving"

The world has so much to offer – the aroma of gardens, the milkweed clad breeze, the rage of the wild, the innocence of a child, the wisdom of the elderly, the teachings of the learned and the very like. We take it all in with utmost enthusiasm and pride. But there comes a time, when a need arises to pay it forward. And it is best complimented when you are able to travel around the world while giving back to society. It enriches you and the ones around you. Here's a guide on how to go about it.

1. Contribute your unique skills in helping a small local business/NGO grow in exchange for stay

Local restaurants and welfare organisations around the world may not always have the budget for a high-end state-of-the-art team for its promotions and business development. With the kind of skills you possess, you can always find ways to help them grow. You can even help them in tasks like gardening or housekeeping. You can get in touch with these organisations through platforms like Worldpackers.com & Helpex.net.

2. Volunteer with international organisations

There are a number of international organisations always encouraging volunteers from different countries for their services. You will have to put your heart and soul, and toil relentlessly on the field. But, you will also find time to visit nearby attractions as well. A few that have offices in India - you can contact is Kibbutz, UN,WWOOF, WWF etc.

3. Volunteer for religious organisations

Many times, traveling and pilgrimages have complemented each other. Doing your part in serving the needy and indulging yourselves in prayer could bring you the peace you are in search for - for eg; serving a langar at a gurudwara when you are on a trip to Punjab or teaching at a school of the Missionaries of Charity when you're at Kolkata.

4. Volunteer with wildlife protection activists in their upcoming projects

Wildlife protection activists are always venturing out to create new sanctuaries or build roads, bridges and improve infrastructure for villages. They wouldn't mind a few helping hands in the process. It will give you an experience of primitive living and survival. You can follow them on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook to know about any upcoming projects. A few notable ones are Gerry Martin, Kartick Satyanarayan, Vijay Nishanth etc

5. If you happen to find outstanding talent or artisans in the remote villages you visit, find ways to promote them

Find producers, filmmakers, journalists or writers and create coverage (they are always on the lookout for an interesting story anyway). Or introduce them to ways they can upgrade their skills and bring it out there. Be creative and you'll always find a way to.

6. Tweet, Instagram, post or write a blog about the good-natured community you've met on your travels, encouraging tourism

7. Popularise unique recipes you haven't experienced before, through social media

Never forget to mention the name of the person/community you owe this to.

8. If you stay with a family that hosts you , insist on hosting them for a day

Prepare a meal or help them clean out their garage. If you're a beauty therapist, offer them a massage or if you're a designer, help them re-do their home. There are a million things you can think of if you try to.

9. Donate books, shoes, footwear or clothes you won't be using often anymore

It reduces the baggage – of the mind and of the body

10. Offer a ride to someone in need

It needs much less effort and the impression lasts a long way.

[Fropki] 15 Bars Around India You Should Visit At Least Once In Your Life

Posted: 22 Jul 2016 08:52 PM PDT

Priyanka Chopra's Blouse Almost Unhooked

This article isn't just for the spirit seekers – it doesn't matter if you are a wine connoisseur, beer fanatic, shooters guy or a teetotaller - you'll find some fantastic places on this list that you can enjoy with all your friends. Whether you want to partake in some downright debauchery or just enjoy the décor, whether you order only the appetisers and not the aperitifs, it matters not. For these are some of the best bars in the country and you must visit them to enjoy the experience - more than the alcohol.

1. Asilo, Mumbai

If you've ever wanted to witness a bird's eye view of Mumbai, head straight to Asilo. Located on the 38th floor of the St. Regis Hotel (Palladium Hotel), this is currently the highest bar in Mumbai. Make sure to order the signature cocktails and the grilled items from the menu while you are sitting on top of the world and looking down on the creation that is Mumbai.

2. Tamasha, Delhi

When in the capital, make it a point to head to the newest and most happening bar in the city – Tamasha. It is spread over 16,000 square feet and its three floors are sectioned off into 5 separate areas that serve as a bar, hookah lounge, courtyard seating and so on. The funky interiors are very pleasing and the truck that has been fashioned into a bar is interestingly innovative to say the least.

3. The Flying Elephant, Chennai

Many have deemed The Flying Elephant a theatrical experience of sorts. The vertical dining concept has 5 different kitchens placed at different open levels, spanning a total of 7 stories. Whether you are in the mood for Middle Eastern, Asian, Indian, Italian or Western cuisine, you can find it all here while enjoying the arresting atmosphere and the foot tapping music.

4. Quote Bar, Delhi

If you are someone who thrives on intellectual conversations and inspiring surroundings, this is the place for you. The interiors are plastered with symbols, words and quotes that are enough to spark off some interesting discussions after you've had a drink or two. Sample their European menu that pairs perfectly with a couple of beers from their premium collection.

5. Pebble, Bangalore

If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city without spending too much on a vacation, a quick trip to Pebble in Bangalore can do just the trick. It's a beach-themed bar, decorated like a shack and surrounded by lush greenery. It serves Persian cuisine, plays some great music and no weekend is boring at Pebble as the events happening here draw in crowds from all over the city. Besides this, the drinks are deadly and the music will put you in a daze in no time.

6. 21 Fahrenheit, Mumbai

This place takes 'chilling with friends' to a whole new level. In the middle of Mumbai's sweltering heat, 21 Fahrenheit offers an ambience of sub zero temperature. Drinks are served in ice cube glasses and even the décor of the bar seems like a set out of Frozen, with tables, walls and even curtains made of ice. Don't worry about the attire though – you are provided with boots and jackets so you can heat up the dance floor while you keep your cool all night long, literally.

7. Bar Palladio, Jaipur

It's one thing to live like the Maharajas, but to celebrate like the royals is a whole new experience. The Narain Niwas Palace has recently become home to one of the most opulent bars in the country – the Bar Palladio. The rich blue and white décor reminds you of a royal time in India, but with a slightly European influence. It doesn't exactly qualify as affordable; the vast list of cocktails, wines and spirits will leave you feeling spoilt for choice while you sit back and take in the grandeur of it all.

8. Black Sheep Bistro, Goa

For those who like to sip and savour wines, Black Sheep Bistro in Goa offers you a selection of spirits that can rival most speciality wine bars. It is a fusion restaurant that combines global inspirations with local tastes. You can sit at the bar, the lounge, the formal dining area or the patio gallery and enjoy your evening with some lip smacking food and invigorating alcohol.

9. Aer, Mumbai

Until recently, Aer was the highest bar in Mumbai before Asilo knocked it out of that place. But nevertheless, this bar is nothing short of spectacular. The open-air rooftop overlooks the expanse of the city making you feel like a spectator sitting high above all the action. The pulsing purple glow from the lights, along with the heady combination of strong cocktails and the view of the sea are enough to give you a night to remember.

10. The Sahib Room and Kipling Bar, Mumbai

The Sahib Room and Kipling Bar has done a fantastic job of recreating the era of gentlemen's clubs during the British Raj. You'll step into a time where it will seem like a hearty conversation with Rudyard Kipling is next on the agenda while you drench your throat with the amazing and amusing cocktail creations inspired by his work.

11. PCO, Delhi

During the American Prohibition era, a number of illicit alcohol joints popped up all around the city which could be accessed only if you were in the know. This trend is coming back and catching on in India too, with PCO in Delhi being an exciting example. The entrance to the bar lies behind a black phone booth among the shop fronts of Vasant Vihar market, and one can enter only if they know the password that needs to be punched in on the telephone dial. On the inside, mismatched furniture, vintage keepsakes and classic cocktails perfectly fit the bill of the retro theme this speakeasy style pub is going for.

12. The Single Malt And Co, Pune

If soothing jazz music, smooth whiskey and woodsy cigars make up your idea of a perfect evening, then this is the place for you. Located at the Hyatt Regency in Pune, The Single Malt and Co. is perfect for all those who love that old-school charm. True to the name, this bar offers a collection of 28 single malts along with multiple other sumptuous wines and scotches. What makes this place even more special is the selection of 6 variety cigars offered to each guest at the time of their visit.

13. Amoda Spa Bar, Kolkata

If you want to spend a whole day soaking up comforts and luxury, head to the Amoda Spa Bar. What operates as a high end spa during the day, transforms into a buzzing bar at night. After soaking in Jacuzzis and enjoying relaxing massages during the day, you can spend your evening under the glare of LED lights, drinking and eating to the limits of gluttony.

14. Harbour Bar, Mumbai

Do you know about the first licensed bar in India? Apparently, it's this one! Located in the Taj Mahal hotel, the Harbour Bar first opened its door in 1933 and is one of the oldest bars in the country; so naturally, vintage is the best way to describe it. Offering guests a direct view of the Gateway of India, its plush and luxurious interiors make it an ideal place for some peace and pampering.

15. Someplace Else, Kolkata

Someplace Else is a haven for music and beer aficionados. It is most recognised for its 9-hour long live music sessions that take place every day. Many prominent bands, both Indian and international, have played here at some point. The food and drink promise to be good, but the rock-and-roll experience is hard to find elsewhere.

[Fropki] NASA Takes 300 Pictures Of The Sun Every Hour For 7 Hours, Releases Them In A Spectacular GIF

Doutzen Kroes struggles to maintain her modesty in slinky gown

NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) has produced dizzying pictures of the sun by taking one picture every 12 seconds for seven hours. In a post about the event, NASA wrote, "SDO images appeared to show the sun spinning, as if stuck on a pinwheel".

According to our calculations NASA took 2100 pictures in seven hours. This exercise happens twice a year to help SDO take precise images of the star and "were the sun perfectly spherical, this would be a much simpler task". But since the sun is dynamic pictures reveal distortions.

Lina Tran wrote on the website saying that it's tough for SDO's Helioseismic and Magnetic Imager (HMI) to find the sun's edge when perfectly still so its biannual roll lets each part of the camera look at the entire perimeter of the sun, thus capturing the sun's shape more accurately.

Capturing the sun in this manner helps scientists better predict the sun's activities that can create hazards for satellites and astronauts travelling to space.
