Aye, workman, make me a dream, A dream for my love. Cunningly weave sunlight, Breezes, and flowers. Let it be of the cloth of meadows. And—good workman— And let there be a man walking thereon.            This poem is in the public domain. About This Poem   "'[Aye, workman, make me a dream]'" was published in War Is Kind (Frederick A. Stokes, 1899).   Stephen Crane was born in Newark, New Jersey, in 1871. His books include The Black Riders and Other Lines (Copeland and Day, 1895) and War Is Kind (Frederick A. Stokes, 1899).
