About This Poem

"I write in many different ways, but one is to write long rambling works. Sometimes there's just one moment that works for me as a poem, and I think this is that. It's suggestive about itself and what sticks to it and who it can be for. I'm asking a lover to be part of my process and let me love them like that."
—Eileen Myles

Eileen Myles's new poetry collection, Evolution, is forthcoming from Grove Press in September. They are also the author of Afterglow (A Dog Memoir) (Grove Press, 2017). They divide their time between New York City and Marfa, Texas.
