Especially when it's for something as prestigious as an IIM entrance, IIT entrance, or a government job (tsk tsk). While browsing through the deep, dark, and unknown valleys of Quora, we stumbled upon the craziest things that were ever asked at an IIM interview. These were some of the answers submitted by the users. While some used the 'smart-ass' card to come back with a fitting reply, others were just dumbstruck with the peculiarity of the question. Like the great Yoda would've said, check it, you must! So if you're planning to enter IIM... 1. Be ready to know which 'gotr' you're from. 2. Work on your bakc*^d skills. Might come in handy. 3. Sweeping Statements - Annoying, Irritating and Insulting     Sweeping statement is the term used when you give conclusive or decisive comment about  something or someone. You may not know but you give sweeping statements several times a day and if you don't mind let me say that most of the time you are wrong   You might have said to your colleagues that this manager has no sense of management whereas if someone asks you to give a ten minutes non-stop lecture on management, you may not be able to deliver it because you too may not have real in depth knowledge of the domain. So, instead of saying "no sense of management" you could more precisely say that you don't agree to "this particular aspect of management" of that person and then elaborate your observations. The later approach in this example is not a sweeping statement instead it is a specific focal point of your point of view.   If you are in habit of giving sweeping statements, you may, at some point in time spoil your relationship with someone permanently especially when you give sweeping statement to the person face to face by annoying and irritating severely. Because when you give sweeping statement you are missing a whole lot of detailed aspects of the subject and may emotionally kill the person.   Also when you give sweeping statement it's not about them only, it's about you as well because it indicates the fact that you are not careful in your thinking. Which means you have a zoom-out attitude when it comes to observing people whereas zoom-in (high level) and zoom-out (detailed micro level) approaches are required to be used according to the situation.   Some other examples of sweeping (sometimes insulting) statements:   1- A man argues with his house wife "what exactly you do at home all day long?"   2- This whole nation or country is arrogant/corrupt.   3- Mom to her child "you never do good work"   4- when you say to your colleague, "you have no idea about it, so leave it to me"   So the bottom line is that instead of being judgmental and passing the remarks instantly one must strive to understand things fairly prior to giving remarks and then use appropriate words and an effective way of communication to describe ones stance in order to improve the situation, not in order to harm it by any mean. This, the world's longest glass-bottomed walkway, is located in Shiniuzhai Geopark in Hunan, and spans 300m (984f) and is 180m (590f) above ground. The floor is made of double-layered glass that is 24mm (0.94in), and is reportedly 25 times stronger than regular window glass.   The bridge had previously been made of wood, linking the two peaks of Stone Buddha Mountain, but 11 engineers working 12 hours a day converted it to glass. But what if you actually arrived at one of the places where these films were shot? Will it make you wet your pants? Or will it just fascinate you to explore the unexplored around that region? Whatever your course of action, we give you a list of 13 real locations from some of Bollywood's scariest films. Good luck if you end up encountering some of the ghosts and spirits they house. PS: 13 was just a coincidence  1. Fern Hill Hotel, Ooty Actor Bipasha Basu has acted in many horror films. But Raaz will always remain special to her. Why? Because its shoot at Ooty's Fern Hill Hotel came with many spooky incidents. The eerie building has a reputation of being haunted in real life, with stories of strange noises being heard in the dead of the night. Seems like both Bips and Dino Morea became method actors on location. Also, just for for the record, the hotel remains shut for a decade now. No points for guessing why! 2. Thakur College, Mumbai During the shoot of her film Aatma in the basement of Thakur College, a photograph of Dr. Ambedkar miraculously took a jump ,moving left and right on the wall. All this while the take was still on. The actor said all the "action" was well captured on camera! The unit also heard the distinct sound of a woman singing when they were shooting at an office complex in Vashi. Mumbaikars, be warned. 3. Tulip Star, Juhu If you live near Mumbai's Tulip Star Hotel, be watchful if you're ever ordering a pizza! You read that right. If you have watched the film Pizza and seen what happens in it, you will know why. The film, which was shot on one of the floors of its building, scared audiences to bits.  4. Modi Mill, Mumbai Mumbai seems to have places enough for a trilogy set across multiple locations. The famous Modi Mills keeps attracting the fantasy of filmmakers, despite being isolated. And when the production team was doing a recce for the film 3AM, they thought the abandoned location would be ideal for a script that required a deserted place. 5.  Nawanagar Palace, Ooty The location's intriguing architecture and old-world charm were the reason director Vikram Bhatt shot Haunted over here. The plot of the horror film revolved around a mansion and its hidden secrets. Hence, the palace played an important role in its screenplay. As a result, it is a famous tourist spot. But will you visit it at the night? 6. Matheran, Maharashtra The next time you plan a weekend getaway to Matheran, in the outskirts of Mumbai, just remember that all the incidents that took place in Ragini MMS took place exactly around this place! The forests and hills of this area were best suited to scare cinefans. Remember the climax in the jungle? 7. Evershine Nagar, Andheri Ram Gopal Varma says the duplex apartment 'Kia Park' where he shot his blockbuster Bhoot is now called the 'Bhoot Apartment'. The location, where most of the film's incidents take place, has such an effect that even 12 years after its release, nobody lives there and the owner of the apartment just uses the space to store old furniture. Willing to rent it out? 8. Egmore, Chennai This might be an important residential area in Chennai, but locals still remember it as the place where 13B was filmed. A temporary shooting floor was created from scratch, inside which an elaborate apartment set was erected. The film also left many hating their television screens. You need to see it to know what we're talking about. 9. Amba Villa, Versova RGV's Phoonk might have failed to scare as much as expected, but its location in Mumbai still reminds many of its plot, which dealt with black magic. The place used to be let out for weddings, but after the film's release, people have become wary of booking the venue. It is now given out for shoots only. 10. Bougain Villa, Madh Island Phoonk 2 was shot at Bougain Villa, which is owned by actor Mandira Bedi and her producer husband Raj Kaushal. According to reports, the couple now prefers to rent it out rather than actually living there. 11. Rajkamal Kalamandir, Mumbai The all-white set in the opening shot of Bollywood classic Kohraa was built at this renowned film studio. And going by the effects this movie had on the audience, many still say those working here keep away from the area around where the film's set was put up. 12. Sigiriya Jungle, Sri Lanka It's not just India that provides the best locations for horror films. Many directors have travelled far and wide for their films. Agyaat, which had all its action unfolding in a jungle, was shot in Sri Lanka. The dense forest cover provided suitable shooting spots for director Ram Gopal Varma. 13. Allerton Castle, England Vikram Bhatt's supernatural period love story 1920 was shot here in Yorkshire. Today, it is considered one of the 10 most haunted castles in the world. The huge deserted building was located in a lonely area, and according to the crew, they always had an eerie feeling when they walked around its huge Victorian-style complex. To get UKG admission for my friend's daughter I too went there. For that admission my friend had studied a lot than his daughter ...! The child could not understand why they brought her there.. When we all were standing, the school principal started to converse with the child....yes...in English only! This is one of the most memorable interview I have ever witnessed in my life.. Here goes.. "What's your name?" "Sarithra" "Good. Tell me something you know" "I know many things. Tell me what you want...!" Alas, there is no better point for not getting the admission! Sarithra's mother was trying to make up the situation but the principal stopped her.. Turning to child, she said.. "Tell any rhyme or story which you know.." Again,"Which one you want.. Rhyme or Story!?" "Ok. Plz tell me a story.." "Do uou want to hear what I studied or what I wrote..!?" Taken to surprise, she asked "Oh! you write stories...???" "Why should I not write..?" Now even I was taken aback But she was impressed with the answer. She ( including us) would have not heard such a story in our life... Ok, tell me story which you have written-? Sarithra said "Ravanan kidnapped Sita & took her to Srilanka" The opening scene failed to impress but still she encouraged the child to continue.. "Rama asked Hanumans help to rescue Sita. Hanuman too agreed to help Rama ..." "Then?" "Now, Hanuman called his friend Spider man." No one expected this twist in the story!! "Why?" "Because there are lot of mountains between India and Srilanka.. but if we have Spiderman we can go easily with his rope..." "But Hanuman can fly isn't it.. ?" "Yes. But he is having Sanjeevi Mountain on one hand so he cannot fly very fast.!" All is quiet, after a while Sarithra asked "Should I continue or not?.". "Ok plz continue!" "Hanuman and Spiderman flew to Srilanka and rescued Sita. Sita said Thanks to both!" "Why" "When you are helped you should say Thanks!" So "Hanuman is now called Hulk..." All were surprised.She realized our curiosity and said " Now Sita is there, so to take her safely back to Rama she called Hulk" "What??? "Hanuman can carry Sita right?" "Yes. But he has Sanjeevi Mountain in one hand and has to hold spider man on the other" No one could control thier smiles. " So when they all started to India they met my friend Akshay! " "How come Akshay there now?" "Because its my story and I can bring any one there!" The principal didn't get angry but waited for the next twist Then all started to India and landed at Chennai Velechery bus stop!  Now I asked,"Why they have landed In Velechery bus stop? "Because they forgot the way..& Hulk got an idea and called Dora!" I came to know about Dora only there...! "Dora came and she took Sita to Velechery Venus Colony...that's all!"  She finished the story with a smile.. 😀 The principal asks "Why venus Colony...?" "Because sita is there & iam Sita!!!" The principal was impressed and embraced the child. She has been admitted in UKG & was gifted with a Dora doll... 😂😂😂 Kids can really amaze... but we clip their wings (creativity) expecting them to do things as we see it right & not from their viewpoint.. I know there are layers beneath the layers and you haven’t asked but I would describe a fresco not even finished in the workshop, discovered beneath damaged plaster here in the Scuola del Cuoio. A simple Madonna and child marked off with a draftsman’s patience, a sketch of faces each etched with a different kind of cross. Evidence of a man working out art’s proportions like a map in the sand: golden mean in the plaster and articulation balanced between the bridge in the distance for scale and the sketched-in step-child abandoned almost in the foreground, clutching at the mother’s skirts—all the necessary work that gets covered over in the finish, smoothed out and blessed with plaster and color, that blinding light cast by the angelic child, mother adoring.   I would describe it all—but that’s easy and I am not so foolish anymore. I know you don’t need me to tell you this. You know the chittering of swallows as they fill the courtyard of the cloister and the weight of sunlight on cypress and stone. If meaning is made of anything you will have heard it in the sound of great space that flows down the stairs of the Pazzi chapel, in the rattle of the tourist dragging his bag on the pavers as he moves toward enormous doors flung open into the heat.            Copyright © 2015 by Jeffrey Thomson.
