As the makers of Bigg Boss are fine tuning things for the new season to begin next month, its team is trying to get firangi names on the show. And while they do so, let's recap and see who all made it to the house in previous seasons. Some of them even irked the television watchdogs, who raised eyebrows over their bold acts!
1. Sunny Leone
The list as to begin with this former porn star of Indo-Canadian origin, who became the biggest success story of Bigg Boss. While she entered the fifth season, to shed the inhibitions associated with an adult film industry star, she went on to sign her first Bollywood project there! Mahesh Bhatt, who specially came in with the film offer, helped her become India's most favourite 'Baby Doll' leaving behind her past. We still remember her for her raw glam appeal, warmth and her pole dance act!
2. Pamela Anderson
When this Baywatch girl entered the house, India came to a standstill! Leaving behind her bikini bod, Pamela preferred to walk into the house in the fourth season wearing a white saree and bindi, looking every bit as sensuous. While she brought the much needed oomph and spice during her three-day 'guest appearance' on the show, the TRPs rocketed to new highs.
3. Vida Samadzai
This Miss Afghanistan charmed all in the fifth installment of the reality show. Vida stuck an immediate chord with the inmates and the viewers who loved her bold outlook about life. Bigg Boss house was literally her shelter after she caused a stir in her own country for sporting a bikini at the beauty pageant. She has been living in India for the past 5 years now.
4. Claudia Ciesla
Clad in a pink saree, a sexy Claudia made a grand entry in the third season. The Polish born German model's stint went on to garner enough attention and got her many film offers too. Her item song with Akshay Kumar in the film Khiladi 786, a role in Karma: Crime, Passion, Reincarnation and her friendship with Salman Khan made headlines. But we would still remember Claudia who upped the hot quotient with her pool act during her 10 week stay in the Bigg Boss house.
5. Sofia Hayat
Her name is synonymous with controversy! The London-based Bangladeshi siren grabbed eyeballs in the seventh season. Her revelations about her abusive past and personal life did give the show big ratings. But she made bigger headlines by legally charging co-participant Armaan Kohli for physically assaulting her during the show. She ensured he got detained from the house. Sofia even revealed much about the various inmates outside the show, after being eliminated.
6. Jade Goody
The firebrand contestant of Big Brother, hogged the limelight for harassing Shilpa Shetty with racial remarks and all the wrong reasons, got a taste of the India as she participated in the second season. Interestingly the season was hosted by Shilpa, who extended a warm welcome to her. But the news of Jade's cancer was unraveled on the show, forcing her to pull out of it. She bid farewell to a teary-eyed Indian audience. May she rest in peace!
7. Natasa Stankovic
The Serbian beauty was seen in the eighth season, where she was adored for her charm, innocence and broken-Hindi. Apart from standing strongly against fellow-contestants like Karishma Tanna, Aarya Babbar and Minissha Lamba, Natasa had to struggle with spicy Indian food during her four-week stay in the house. She has appeared in films like Satyagraha, Holiday and Action Jackson. Yes, she is the one dancing in the black dress in the latest chartbuster "DJ Wale Babu".
8. Elli Avram
She has been by far the cutest contestant on Bigg Boss! This Swedish-Greek model lighted up the seventh season with her innocence and hotness. She went on to become one of the favourite inmates. Host Salman Khan was so fond of her that he compared her mannerisms to his ex-girlfriend, Katrina Kaif. We can never forget her fair play and neutral stand during the ugly fights in the house. And of course, we loved her Hindi. It was so much better than several Indian participants! Though her Bollywood debut Mickey Virus bombed, her Bigg Boss innings was a big hit.
9. Hazel Keech
The British national played Kareena Kapoor's friend in Bodyguard. She then entered the seventh season of the Bigg Boss, and came out winning hearts for her simplicity and friendly nature. Though she lasted only for a week, she called her stay "an experience of a lifetime". Few film appearances here and there, but she is now hogging headlines for dating cricketer Yuvraj Singh.
10. Mandana Karimi
Let's be optimistic and include Mandana in the list too! This Iranian model and actress, who recently made her Bollywood debut with Roy, might become a part of the upcoming season nine to promote her soon-to-release Bhaag Johnny. And if she does, she surely will set the temperatures scorching. If reports are to be believed, Mandana has confirmed her participation. Fingers crossed!
