October is American Archive Month   Along with the being the spookiest month of the year, October is also American Archives Month. Take a look at We the Poets, a project of poets reading poems they wrote inspired by holdings from the National Archives. Featured Book: Get Lit Rising   Get Lit–Words Ignite, a Los Angeles-based organization that engages at-risk youth through poetry has published this empowering and socially conscious collection of poems by teens. Featured alongside each poem is the classic poem that inspired it, the poet's story, and a series of writing prompts and discussion questions. Poetry in the Classroom Calendar   To help you bring more poetry into your classroom this school year, we've designed this brand-new, interactive Poetry in the Classroom Calendar, a downloadable guide to all of our lesson plans, activities, and other resources related to timely themes.  Teacher Day at the Dodge Poetry Festival   October 20 to 23, we'll be partnering with the Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival to present our annual Poets Forum weekend of events as part of the festival.
